We've gone ahead and unboxed our Laguna A 14BX Bandsaw in case you missed our first video check it out. In today's video we're gonna be assembling all the parts today. Read on to find out how.
Unlike most small band saws on the market, the Laguna 14 BX has a solid, one piece frame. What that means for you is that there is only a small number of parts to install. Nonetheless, it's a good idea to start by cleaning the trunnions (fun fact: a trunnion is a pin or pivot on one side of a pair) with WD40. Make sure there's no dirt grime so the table can tilt easily.
Since the trunnions are made from cast iron, I applied a small amount of paste wax. This keeps them from rusting as well.
Next, we grab the washers, ratchet handles and tabletop for installation.
•Put the 2 trunnion clamp studs located on the back of the tabletop through the trunnions.
The ratchet handles have a button you need to press in order to expose the ratcheting mechanism that attaches the bolt.
•Put on your washers and then attach the ratchet handle.
•At the throat of the saw, check that the foot tilt stop bolt and tilt blanking disc are aligned and the blanking disc is in the closed position. Clean the cast iron table with WD 40, the factory seal comes off quick and easily.
•Apply some paste wax to inhibit rust, let it dry to a haze, remove the excess and polish to a shine.
Don't forget to lovingly caress your tabletop. Grab the 13 inch steel rule in mounting hardware.
•Mount the table ruler with two small bolts and washers. You don't need to fully tighten them until you install the blade and adjust for the blade with.
•Fit the defense parts the table. The bar is not symmetrical. The longer side to the back of the song. Use it to spacers and bolts to install the table with supplied Allen key.
•Slide the fence support on the fence bar.
•Slide the fence onto the support and lock it into position with your knobs. The fence can be mounted into a low position for cutting small pieces or a high position for reason.
Total assembly time is only about 10 minutes. All of the parts are excellently machined with a thirty eight inch cast iron table, 12 inch resaw capacity and 2 four inch dust ports, the 14 BX by Laguna is an excellent upgrade to any shop, if you like what you saw don't forget to hit that subscribe button.
