30 years ago I would never have believed that someone would be able to buy a CNC machine for their garage. It also blows my mind that there is software out there that even a beginner can use to program these machines to make some pretty cool stuff. The funny thing about this is that the technology being used in the "hobby" machines is actually quite old.

Hey Jake, I received my Laguna IQ on Tuesday. I was super excited to get going, as I have watched yours and many others videos. Right off the bat the Y axis stepper motor was faulty. I didn't even get a chance to home the machine, Y never moved. After half a day on the phone with Laguna, and troubleshooting, they determined they would send a new motor, which of course will arrive who knows when. Imagine how disappointed I am with Laguna right now. I am wondering how your machine has been. Have you had any trouble? I am really hoping this is just a fluke and all will go well from here out.

The owners manual talked about putting 30w oil on guides for lube lol. I was going to clean the guides off with wd4 , what kind of lube did you use and also do you lube ballscrews? Also do you know if the controller will swap to inches and not metric I can't seem to figure it out if it can

Hello, Thank you for posting this very informative video. I am in the process of buying a new cnc machine but rather than buying big machine, I decided to start with small one and in particular one like yours or IQ machine from Laguna but have some questions that I would like your input on: 1- Do you have the 10 inch z axis travel or 6 inch and which one do you recommend? 2- I was told that the router can travel 2 to 3 inches beyond machine table. Is that true? This is important to me as I planned to add fixture to end of the table to do dovetail where the piece will be standing 90 to the table surface. 3- Any trouble using aspire software with IQ machine? Thank you kindly and look forward to hearing from you Thsnkd
@JakeThompson
5 жыл бұрын
Mimi Becks Thank you for watching the video and I’m glad you enjoyed it. Mine has the 6 inch travel but the 10 inch would be way better. The spindle will go down a couple inches past the bed. And Aspire works just fine with the machine. 👍👍 hope this helps..
