Two days in Lahore was barely long enough, but here is my recap of my trip to this most enchanting historical city in the Punjab region of Pakistan.
While there are SO many modern amenities, restaurants and things to do and see around the city, my old soul was instantly drawn to the ancient walled city of Androon Lahore.
We packed in quite a lot in just two days, considering we had little ones in tow and the infamous Lahori summer heat was just gearing up for the summer.
Places I went in this vlog:
Badshahi Mosque (and food street)
Lahore Fort
Iqbal Gardens (& tomb of Allama Iqbal-not pictured sorry)
Sheesh Mahal
Shalimar Gardens
Delhi Gate (also Gali Surjan Singh!)
Wazir Khan Mosque
There are SO many more things to see of historical note; here are a few on my list for my next visit to Lahore iA:
Tombs of Jehangir & Shah Jahan
The other 12 gates (each with their own distinct vibe)
Tomb of Anarkali
Shahi Hammam
Lahore Zoo (currently closed, under renovation)
Lahore Museum (don’t make our mistake and show up on a Friday; they’re closed Wednesday and Friday!)
BTW, please keep in mind that the streets around the old city gates are VERY dusty/polluted, and there are motorcyclists zipping thru narrow lanes. So…if you have kids, keep ‘em close and maybe wear a mask.
As you can see, Lahore is SO much more than Heeramandi, and I hope you too get a chance to visit this incredible city.
