Laing is usually a side dish for fried chicken, pork or fish...it usually cook with seafood like shrimp and dried squid.
@bribon511143
2 жыл бұрын
Laing is a dish from the Bicol Region, it is usually spicy with minced bird’s eye chili with it. The taro leaves are hung to dry to make it safe to eat because it will make your mouth a bit itchy. Usually you sauté shrimp paste or dried small shrimp with it. Some would also put the taro root cut into small cubes as extender for pork or seafood then boiled in coconut milk until it is reduced and the taro is tender then add coconut cream to make it creamy. To balance the saltiness my father puts a bit of vinegar…

There are 3 ways to make it less itchy / poisonous: chop and wash the leaves, dry the leaves for some time, and when putting the dried leaves into the pan, submerge them in coconut milk for 20 minutes without mixing. Edit: it should be ‘steps’ instead of ‘ways’
