I just finished watching Indy play Isle of Eras and saw your comment on this game. Thank you so much for making these. You truly have a unique way of looking at the world(s) and they were fascinating, comforting and a little terrifying to see. I wish you all the luck in your future endeavors. ❤

I went into this game completely blind - didn’t even read the description because I was going through my dreams catalog looking for games. Turns out having no knowledge of what I was getting into was the best decision for this experience. I felt like a kid again. This type of game was the first of its style that I’ve ever played. It took me about 5 hours to get through and despite the few frustrations about what to do at times, I preferred it that way, rather than getting a hint. It was a true wandering adventure and in hindsight even the backtracking and going in circles was a nice addition to the overall feeling. It was a work of art to experience. I had to play this one in first person because it just felt right. When I say it should be something short of illegal to be as underrated as you are, I mean that from my heart. I know you don’t do cinema as much as creating games, but I’d pay three times a ticket price to see a film of yours with these ideas. You are one in a million. Hell, one in a billion I think. It’s almost a crime that you aren’t given a Hollywood budget to do this because you have something really special. I’m super excited to see Cryptica

@@symboliccinema388 man thanks for those kind words, I really appreciate it. Going the full on “no handholding” route is all I know and Cryptica will very much be the same in that regard. I do love filmmaking but it’s only in the video game medium I feel like I have no limitations. Maybe someday I’ll get a Netflix deal to make my trilogy into a film series haha. Also Cryptica will be 1st or 3rd person POV!

I just played this. I would love to see a game like this on a real engine. The overwhelming immense scale is something you got right. More horror games need to do this. Confined spaces are scary too, but endless chasms and immense creatures create a very unique cosmic horror element. The only flaws are due to the Dreams platform physics and respawn mechanics being klunky and frustrating at times. There are a lot of spots where it’s way too easy to clip through the ground or walls and fall into the void.

I actually bought Dreams so I could play this Game. I'm obsessed with it to be honest. It's a beautiful, and insane experience. 💚 The story and lore are cool, the designs of the creatures are brilliant, and the scenery and environment are great. I spent a fair bit of time just stopping to gaze at the world around me, and at Juni when she appeared. I also explored the best I could as well, trying to find every secret, Easter Egg, and lore. I spent a bit of time trying to get back up to the Vault so I could open the door that needed the Municipal Card, but couldn't. 💚 It was a fun experience playing this, and I can't wait to see what you make next. Thank you so much for making this gem! 💚

Wow thanks! Yeah I had originally had a plan for the ending of the game to have some extra content going into the vault at the end but ended up cutting that content. So glad you enjoyed the environments, that’s my favorite part to make. I’m working on another game called “The Firmament” and I’m using Unreal Engine 5 to create it. If you haven’t played Isle of Eras on Dreams yet, try that out, it’s the prequel to Lake Juniper! Enjoy!

I see. Would've been interesting to see, but the Ending we got was pretty incredible; although I do wonder what was in the Vault. The Sound Design was also insane. I'm not surprised, the environment's awesome, and nothing seemed empty or dull; it's picturesque. Ooh, The Firmament? Curious name; the meaning of it is telling. Is that connected to Isle of Eras, and Lake Juniper, or is it separate? I wish you luck creating it, and I can't wait to see it. I'll play Isle of Eras when I get back on the PS5. I've seen people play it, and want a bash at it myself. Thank you so much.

Came here after watching Lake Juniper at IGP (I hate how in pursuit of the clickbaity video titles he completely omits the actual name of the game in the video...), decided to reach out here in hopes that you'll notice this 😊 Great taste at cosmic horror and this atmosphere, it is so hard to satisfy the hunger for that particular media. So I wanted to ask, any recommendations for movies or games in that subgenre? 👀 Aside from an obvious suggestion of Annihilation (2018), also Endless (2008) and Empty Man (2020) - for those who didn't see those, I can recommend. Also, funnily enough it heavily reminds me of Uriel Files, which I'm sure almost no one here ever heard of. It's a... story, of some sort, that is conveyed almost exclusively through wojak edits memes about specific characters with bits of text around (like "___ gf" memes) which slowly uncover the story behind, but otherwise looks as if memes made about some existing story/movie/game/fandom, made by one of the admins of a group /x/ in VK that originally intended to relay creepy/surreal memes from /x/ imageboard, eventually (like other similar pages) becoming its own thing. Those "Uriel Files" also feature mysterious lake with something down there, occasional giants and dense cosmic horror vibe with much left for interpretation. If you're curious to check it out, you're in luck cuz that whole series was made in english (despite being a group in russian VK with russian audience), however VK's stupid post search shows them exclusively from new to old, meaning when you follow the link, *the END will be at the top, so be sure to immediately scroll all the way down to start there*: vk.com/feed?q=%23THEURIELFILES§ion=search P.S. I hope it gets through, YT often wipes the comments with links or even without for no good reason.

@@MankindFilm on my way to watch Isle of Eras now, sadly its all in 'dreams' (I forgot that exists at this point), so can only watch it on youtube. Shame, that was one of those rare times when as soon as I saw just a fragment of IGP's trailer-like intro, I stopped and tried to find the 'game' to play myself only to realize that in Dreams and I can't :'( Btw, since I have zero clue how Dreams work - do you compose your own music for those or upload it or use some royalty-free one (unlikely) - in other words, where can I find those OSTs? 👀

@@LeonserGT my next game will be on steam and you can wishlist The Endarkenment right now! As far as the soundtracks it’s some custom music and some stock and it’s all basically stuck on dreams aside from a few songs on Lake Juniper, BumbleBurke is the artist!

@@MankindFilm can I get a used BumbleBurke track list by any chance? 👀 Also, figured to ask here since I can't imagine getting an answer under IGPs video about what that music was at the very end - basically at the Lake Juniper's overview screen - was that part of dreams? custom title song you chose for the overview screen to fill the player with dread before even starting? Or was it edited in by IGP? Basically it got stuck like an earworm 😁

@@MankindFilm My favorites would be the ones that play during exploring the hilltop with skyline, when you reach the lake afterwards, encountering the fallen angels, and Juniper's awakening. You're very talented to have developed all this in Dreams, including the tracks.

@@rgazdicthanks! Yeah the tools inside Dreams for audio are pretty impressive, I had someone else make a few of the tracks for the intro and outro but all the stuff you mentioned were soundscapes I created in game. Originally I had a vastly more complicated quest line where you could unlock the vault by the exit but ended up cutting it to push players along into the ending faster. Quite a bit of exposition got cut out of the game, which ends up making the lore even more cryptic. I left that power building up there because I was too lazy to delete it haha.

@@MankindFilm haha makes sense! I was also really intrigued about what would the municipal card unlock in the vault near the radio tower - and it got me wondering if the two vaults where connected! Awesome game man! A lot of lore to be explored via environmental storytelling

I’ve been trying to figure out all the secrets by replaying and its been bugging me that things sometimes appear and I don’t know how to make then appear again. Like the face in the “free hugs” room and another weird doll face just before the dead end in the sewer past the ladder.

So sometimes those won’t trigger if you are in first person mode, if you are in 3rd they will trigger properly, but they just disappear into the darkness when you get close. There’s a ufo that triggers on the rollercoaster area too! Sort of an Easter egg to Isle of Eras and there’s another ufo in the very first cutscene at Lake Juniper!

i always thought that it would be cool where you make the player make an account for the game that diffrent from thae game. the players will absently put their info. then sometime during the game have it creeply just whisper their first name or have it pop up somewhere in the game. that would def scare people. like im talking to you, no not this one you behind them you and say their name .. something like that lol
