A key feature of any limnically active lake that they failed to mention is that it has to be meromictic (no mixing of surface and deepest water layers over seasons) otherwise each year dissolved gas would have been released peacefully (it takes many years of buildup to make a concentration as dangerous as shown).

Lake Nyos is a crater lake in the Northwest Region of Cameroon, located about 315 km northwest of Yaoundé, the capital. Nyos is a deep lake high on the flank of an inactive volcano in the Oku volcanic plain along the Cameroon line of volcanic activity. A volcanic dam impounds the lake waters

Lot's of person claiming conspiracy bullshits here. A simple explanation here would be like that of soda drink (coke). If you disturb it enough, it will release the CO2 dissolved in it. That's basically what happened.

It was a gas turnover thing that the poison gas was under the water of the lake and it came to the surface and was a heavy poisonous CO2 gas cloud that followed the contours of the land and suffocated everything in the surrounding area. That was quite a bad deal. Rare phenomenon.

Her: Lots of dead, people, cows, dogs..... PS: she didn’t mention the cats. They have 9 lives anyway.
@Nirrrina

Cats can often survive things other animals or even humans can't. It's because they naturally & amazingly fast seek out very tiny dark sheltered places. There's been times after a house fire that people were extremely lucky to find their cat tucked way back underneath things like a closet scared to death but mostly ok. People think of cats as hunters and such. But they're also the perfect prey animal size. They are very aware of that too. It's why if s cat shows their belly it's a sign of trust. Because of that they're always on guard to run & hide. Well except the one that moved into an animal park of alligators. He literally takes meat from the Gators. There's also a cat the became friends with a zoo bear and the bear shares her food willingly with the cat. Although I think the caretakers now also provide cat food too. Cats are a strange animal. Big & small. I just saw a cat rescue video of their cats playing with pumpkins. The mountain lion was hilarious! She took her pumpkin and was batting it around just like a house cat with a toy. They're actually the biggest cat species that can purr like a housecat. But that video just proves all cats are alike. Except you're not as likely to lose your hand to a housecat.

Maybe the Landslide can lead to lake overturns maybe tsunami. Lake overturns gas is carbon dioxide and lake Neos is the most likely place a lake overturn would happen because there's carbon dioxide formed in the water. Us people can't survive with carbon dioxide neither can we survive with gas. Maybe Lake overturns strike at night when there victims are sleeping and don't what's happening. Even if there alive if the gas gets in your going to choke. Plus the gas is faster than you. I'm explaining Lake overturns right now. I know this sounds like unsurvivable.
