My second train I caught here. After the Z train came by, I waited for another train to arrive, a few times while I was here, I heard a few horns in which I thought it was a train approaching on the Topeka Sub, but it turned out it was coming from the UP Kansas Sub as Edwardsville was not that far from here to the north of the crossing. Eventually I heard an approaching train in the distance, and got into position to finally get a video of the crossing in action. I ended up catching a WB manifest with BNSF 5266 leading with an unexpected appearance of 1050 (h1 with h2 lettering). This marks my first time seeing that unit in person which was nice. Crossing signals here are nothing special as these were installed around 2014 replacing a pair of crossbucks that used to exist here with one of them being a 45 degree crossbuck too. I also did some further investigating and discovered that the road south of the crossing was realigned around the early 2010s to accommodate the housing development that was built nearby the crossing for safety reasons. Before then, this area was pretty much mostly open land. The grade surface used to be all wood until BNSF redid it in the recent years, as such the surface is now all concrete. It also appears that the light frames, and the visors are falling apart on both signals as they're missing chunks in them. Hopefully BNSF fixes them at some point.
