Looks like a dream. With all of the resources that Jeep division has at there fingertips. Taking what people have done to there old trucks. They surely could have come up with something better than what they brought out. I’m 6’ foot. And I don’t really feel comfortable in the new one’s to tight inside and not much headroom. What they could have had if they would have add a few inches here and there to make the new one look like this. But then you have the government involved with all the belts and bags. Wouldn’t it be nice to sign a waiver that you don’t want all of that.

Thank you for the comment. I agree that new cars just don't have what the old ones did. No class, no style and way too much big brother.

Great job,,,love those seats,,did you make them sit farther back,,know most sit way to close to the wheel for me,,,just finishing up a 53 frame up restoration all original,, but sure like that guy...Where did you get the electronics
@LambFab
Жыл бұрын
The seat was a big concern because the customer is quite tall. We spent a lot of time building it to fit and made the back rests slightly thinner to give a bit more room to tip the seat back for comfort. As to electronics, the entire wiring harness was custom done in house and we used a stand alone engine/transmission harness with a factory gm computer to run it all. Truck has driven all over the country and has been quite reliable for him.

Love this build and what's under the hood. Where did you place the car battery and AC unit under the hood? Didn't see it in the video.
@LambFab
Жыл бұрын
the battery is in a steel battery box in the willys original location under the passenger floor board mounted to the frame rail up high. The ac has a factory compressor for the 5.3 gm ls based engine and the evaporator unit is behind the dash on the passenger side

John Willys, Willys Automobile Company-Circa 1912 (Pronounced Will-S), the Willies came in because he owned many, many plants making parts and they became known locally as Willie's plants because it was hard to say Willys's, according to the son of a former 1928 employee of the company. Great businessman and solid vehicles and for many years nipping at Henry Ford's heels. Always great knowing it's being driven and used. Show boats are a hole in the water where you throw away a lot of money. Really love your work, neat,neat,neat,neat every single bit. Even the exhaust note is spot on by my book. Gotta be one of the best RM on the planet for this truck. Useable, clean finish everywhere. During the 1960's I grew up driving a stock 1952 which I sold ten years ago. It was the five bar grill and small back window.

I used a company called RS gauge works in Arizona. He is usually about a year out and it takes many many months to get gauges back but did a good job. The other option would be Dakota Digitals custom shop where they can fit modern analog gauges. Both options take lots of time but are worth the efforts.

The entire chassis is from a jeep grand wagoneer. It has the late model model 20 rear axle with one piece shafts. it has held up very well behind the 5.3 and he has a ton of miles on it.
