Simply goes to show that F1 "Competition" is no longer a competition (like all other sports where money flows freely). There will always be teams willing to accept money and a mediocre driver to be able to compete. Vettel is a prime example of a driver who is at the end of his career but who accepted large sums of money to be Stroll's team mate. Not very sportsmanlike.

Plain fact is no one can get into the upper levels of Motorsport without money or the correct connections is as always been that way. even the Gentlemen races of the 30's and 30's had to have money or wealthy Patrons, willing to give them cars or financial support. F1 is full or Drivers that paid their way into drivers or had their drives paid for at various points in its History. The Guy must have some talent after all he had to move through the lower tiers of open wheel racing to get a seat in F1. But how many have then lacked the talent to take it up that extra gear to challenge for the biggest prize in Motorsport. So many highly rated lower tear Open Wheel Champions have made it to F1 then never managed to progress before finally quitting F1 and finding their feet in things like WEC or Sports cars or Touring Cars racing. I think this is all down to his Father chasing a dream that will not happen after so long in F1 one can only imagine How Lance feels with his Fathers lofty targets for his son. I doubt anyone in the teams dares to tell Mr Stroll that his Dream is never going to happen and maybe for the team to progress they need to bring in two drivers that can improve the teams development and bring in more investment. His son can continue racing in a lower Motorsports Championship, He can even buy a team for him, but for the sake of Aston Martin things need to be changed.

Your video just revealed to me that Stroll is much more qualified to drive in F1 than I thought. How can you fault him for not surpassing teammates like Perez, Alonso, Massa and Vettel? His pre-F1 career was quite successful too. Even though I disagree with your conclusion, thanks anyway for digging up and presenting all the info.

This can all be explained in a succinct, proven metric. It's jam licked off windows, per square inch. RPM beat you to this. Almost like RPM finishes fast and early.....and we're all a bit disappointed when its over.

A team principal who constantly heaps praise on a talentless hack is worse than useless. Mike Krack is a corporate yes-man who lives under a cloud of delusion. Along with Lance, Mr Krack needs to go.

I have seen this in amateur hockey. A father driving his son to play a sport he was unable to play regardless of the wishes of the child. Lance doesn't want to be there.. Its easy to read... Lawrence is willing and able to spend his fortune pushing his son. Lance said at one point he would rather play tennis. I say let him. Before his fathers dream turns into a nightmare of the worst kind.

While I agree that Lance have underperformed, he might still be among the top drivers in the world. Success in other categories rarely translates in F1 pace. We have had countless F2, Indy, WEC and FE champions doing nothing in F1.

From what I see of Lance Stroll he seems quite capable. He's not last in every race is he? Yes, he's had a leg up from his rich father, I'd do the same for my son in the same position. Would you ? I see no harm in indulging the family in something really interesting, exciting, and at the peak of engineering and driving skill. Is it just jealousy, people who don't see the overall picture of a rich man who loves his family and encourages his son to succeed at the highest level in the world?

Seems like a decent racer to me. Also a decent guy. You cannot choose your father. And why would he turn down help getting into F1?

I think he's learned a lot from his mistakes and veteran teammates. He needs to train his peripheral vision. Zhou and Sargeant are definitely not coming back next season.

I didnt realise how much his dad was involved even before lance entered f1 territory. I dont like the guy but i used to give him some credit for his early career. Now im not so sure..
