Had one as a hire car recently. It was superb and I've now ordered one. I loved it (so did the wife and kids!)

This is been upgraded in 2016 with a new range of efficient economical diesels and new 8 speed automatic box also available in two wheel drive.Entry level models will be around 29 k. A better vehicle than the evoke for the family buyer.....

Seems bizarre to mention the manual box, surely few will fail to spec the auto

Noisy engine looks strange to me. I have both Disco Sport (earlier version with eco-Boost) and RR Evoque with petrol engine. Surprisingly - and it was noted by many people around - Disco is way quieter and overall just very quiet. Even though many say that diesels usually are more noisy and Evoque supposedly is a higher grade and more luxurious car. So may be your test car was not as good.

A bit of a clatter on start up, but once the 2.2 lump is warmed up, they're absolutely fine. Prefer it to the disasterous Ingenium that everyone was clamouring for. I don't agree with his comments about the manual gearbox either. It's a breeze to change smoothly.

People who spend their money on this overpriced, pretentious, badly made and shockingly unreliable junk deserve everything that's coming to them.

Loud clangy outdated engine. The new 2 litre diesel in the current model is much better.

We had one over the Easter weekend and whilst it was very well finished with the expected Land Rover luxury we found it noisy with a lot of annoying rattles. It felt heavy and very "wallowey"

You would have had the tried and tested 2.2 litre engine. Granted, that is a noisy engine which is years old now. There is now a brand new 2.0 litre engine which is much quieter

I bought a new one and sent it back after numerous issues with the car! Got a full refund! One of the issues was when opening the boot after it had been raining heavily, the water would get trapped in the rubber seal. So when fully opened the water would pour out over you if you entered from a certain angle. They told me that this was designed this way. I refused to accept this and asked for written proof. Eventually they accepted a design fault and offered to fix it. they tried to fix it with a bit of DOUBLE SIDED STICKY TAPE(which they forgot to take one side of the sticky tape off!). The sat nav would occasionally reset itself whilst driving. The Parking assist didn't work properly. Whilst testing it with one of the head mechanics, instead of parallel parking it perpendicular parked itself into a bush. brand new car sold with old software installed Speakers would buzz like the bass had blown once in a while, They could not work out what was wrong with this. Need I Say More

Why do the British wax lyrical about the Land Rover? Over the years it has proven to be one of the least reliable cars on the planet. A British survey found that 70% of all Land Rovers over 3 years old break down at least once a year. No way would I seriously contemplate taking a car like that off road here in OZ - maybe in Britain, where you are never far from anywhere, but not here.

+hawkesworth1712 We wax lyrical about Land Rover, because non of its competitors come anywhere near it. it has served the british army since its launch, something that no other manufacture has done, and as a recovery driver in Germany I tow in more of its competitors than land rover.

Pearce Carl Try being a recovery driver in Australia. Most manufacturers bring their cars here to test them in extreme conditions and Landcruiser is the car that does best here. It's no coincidence that anyone around the world who wants to get off-road in extreme conditions will have Landcruiser as their first choice. The UN uses them almost exclusively and ISIS are big fans.

And that's why they don't sell many land cruisers in Europe, they can't handle our extreme weather, the UN also use land rover -----Original Message-----
