For this type of landing, do you prefer the old Airbuses with the yoke? Or the new Airbuses with the sidestick?

kamaral28 Both have advantages and disadvantages in my opinion . The yoke system on this older Airbus is cable operated, meaning you have direct control over the control surfaces and any correction against a gust of wind will be immediate whereas on the Airbus sidestick family all the pilot control inputs go through computers on their way to the control surfaces meaning it suffers a minor delay. The trick is to anticipate or use the rudder as a last resort (it's still cable operated). In the end, I like the comfort of the sidestick against the yoke plus not having anything between your legs during long hour flights scores a lot of points, and the folding work table is a must!

Sounds like a cable operated sidestick is the best of both worlds :)

Definitely the yoke.

Great video. What's the blinking light on the overhead (located above the digital 3.05)?

Beachboy0910 It's the Trim Tank isolation valve. It's blinking, meaning the valve is in transit.

Thanks alot for the reply. One thing that I've noticed is that computers and glass cockpits are becoming a larger part of Airbus & Boeing airliners. With that being said I think it's vital that the manufacturers & airlines train pilots on how to deal with computer failures & glass cockpit blackouts. I know that both Airbus & Boeing aircraft have experienced some crazy flight computer failures resulting in the aircraft having a "mind of its own" until the pilots could regain control. These computers depend on sensors feeding them data and when the sensors go bad it can be a domino effect. I've also heard about the A320 having glass cockpit blackouts. My point again is I think that it's great that aircraft have more advanced technology these days but pilots must be properly trained to address all issues that could arise . When these fancy things don't work the pilots have to deal with it, all while flying a high performance aircraft and having people's lives being in their hands. The engineers and computer programmers don't have that stress lol.
