Big fan man, love your skating and I know your a misunderstood person a lot of times. The thing that stood out to me tho was the comment you made about good shit not happening for you. Best advice I can give you is just be grateful bro. Your young living in California living out your dream for a living. I know the pro skateboarding life isn't as glamorous as other pro athletes. But your living all of are dreams. All the kids who grew up ripping, just trying to get a shop sponsor so we could get a free board. I'm 35 years old now man. I've been thru the ringer, drugs, alcohol, lost relationships, working shit jobs. A lot of us don't make it. A lot of us end up like me in many ways. Just keep your head up, be grateful and keep fucking grinding. Its gives us all a little bit of hope. Much love brother.

how do u not hurt ur legs or knees jumping down that high? I jumped down 3-4 stairs and hurt my knees

Its all about conditioning. The more you do it the less it hurts
@giselle319
Күн бұрын
@@jeffwonsong ooh okay, thanks for the reply! U think it could also be because u bend ur knees and I think I didnt? You think someone jumping stairs for the first time could break their knees?
@brendancourage
Күн бұрын
@@giselle319 you should absolutely bend your knees when landing from any height, lol. Breaking your knees from jumping is incredibly rare due to how natural it is to bend your knees when landing. Practice jumping (on your feet, without a board) and landing as quietly as possible. The more quiet you are, the more your muscles are absorbing the impact. Makes it more strenuous, but safer on your joints. You're much more likely to hurt your ankles from skating, in my experience. But, the ankles, knees and hips are all connected... so if one of them is not working properly or pulling their weight, you have to compensate with the others. So for example, skating with a hurt ankle could end up hurting your knee above that ankle, because the ankle can't do its part and the knee has to make up for that.
@giselle319
Күн бұрын
@@brendancourage oh makes sense, thanks. Before jumping I knew to bend my knees so I tried to but i still ended up hurting my knees. Maybe I landed more on one knee because the next I woke up my left knee hurt and not my right. Or maybe I ddint bend them enough? It's still crazy how I hurt myself from 3-4 stairs and here he is jumping 16 with no injury lol. I thought it wasnt possible to jump from such a height without hurting urself. At first I thought it was because of the board but no cuz there's time where he doesnt land on the board and its he actually jumped 16 stairs without a board/with just his body

Not gunna lie, Jeff, you and I have very similar styles and bag of tricks.. but i could never get the hang of the big drops, I was too scared. This is crazy.. And it seems everyone calling it a pressure flip don't know how to do pressure flips. It would be impossible to pressure flip with that footing. I think Jeff that you kick down and to the side eh? So it's kind of off your toe more than a heel? It's a correct way to do the trick but it does look quite different as you don't have to kick your front foot out so much with this version.
