Thanks for trying. The video was worthwhile. Good tip on how to adjust the circle without cutting the timber. Results looked better, too! FWIW, I would wait, until the rings are in their final resting place before attaching them together. Wet pressure treated wood is heavy! Situations like that one are the reason battery powered drills shine.Can take them anywhere. 😉 God Bless.

The important thing is to go out and build something with our own hands and have fun and enjoy it right. You did a good job i hope mines also come out good i will be painting mine maybe barn red and white.

Thank you for not editing out the portion where your octagon did not fit perfectly. I was about to go do the same project but for a large tree using 4' sections. I'm sure I will have some type of similar problem once I get it ready to attach. Its nice to see others have little "mishaps". Thanks..

Set your saw to cut 22.5 degree cuts (all cuts) and you end up with the 360 degrees. 22.5 x 16 equals 360 degrees or a circle.

I heard you say, "Porter Cable's pretty good." DeWalt, Black & Decker and Porter Cable are all made by the same company.
@bctruck

Nope. DeWalt is made by DeWalt. They are under the black and decker umbrella of ownership but these are all made with totally different components in factories that are not related to each other. There is no interchangeable parts and the level of quality varies with each brand as well. I am tool God!!

You may never get your "bass" voice back. But that does not matter. Have you tried singing to stimulate your vocal chords?? And I mean just singing along with old 60's & 70's songs we love. Speaking does not use the range of your vocal chords. It was just a thought.. God bless...

LoneStar yes. I caught her at the fence one time listening to a conversation Bev and my wife were having while they were sitting in the swing under the shade tree. She saw that I noticed her and quickly walked away. That was the last time I’ve seen her.
