A huge chunk from a 250ft cliff on the Jurassic Coast has gave way, causing boulders the size of cars to plummet onto the beach.
The slip has exposed the 195 million year old cliffs which will be rich with fossils of the remains of Jurassic marine creatures like plesiosaurs.
The landslide started at midday and continued all afternoon.
The fall led to some 750,000 tonnes of shale rock, clay and mud to slip 40ft down, completely burying Stonebarrow Beach.
It looked similar to the slide that occurred at Torrey Pines beach, San Diego in January this year
