#vapor pressure generated rushes from the oil return pipe to the oil pan towards the #rocker arm chamber Over there, due to the high temperature and the mixing of engine oil vapor, the mixture is followed by the waste engine oil vapor #pcv system and the breathing port of the rocker chamber cover, etc., and then the negative pressure of the intake air
It is somewhat similar to the situation of #water and gas, so the cylinder #piston produces abnormally high temperatures, causing the #piston ring gap to #rapidly #heat-expand and #contract, causing the four #piston rings
Fortunately, when I discovered that there was a mixture of #oil_water in waste engine oil recycling, I immediately decided to #disassemble the engine and reorganize it.
This episode mainly focuses on #cylinderhead cleaning, #cylinderhead cleaning mainly consists of what is commonly known as #catchingbirds and #valve clearance adjustment.
First, check whether the #valve and #valve chamber are tight and whether there is #air leakage problem. Once the #air leakage is serious, the car will be prone to #carbon deposition, incomplete #combustion, #jitter, #powerlessness...etc. , in severe cases, it #cannot start, # stalls... the machine is almost going to be #overhauled or #scrapped!!
Second, recombine and #adjust valve clearance
Third, check whether there is air leakage between the steam valve and the steam valve chamber
When disassembling, be sure to mark and record the location of each component, and arrange them in order so that they will not be confused when combined later, resulting in no gaps no matter how they are matched.
When reassembling, follow the markings and sequence, and tighten the torque according to the original factory specifications, so that the gap range can be accurately measured.
The second lock is 14 Newton meters
Speaking from experience, I use an impact wrench to lock it, then use a #ratchet wrench to lock it, and then tighten each screw in sequence for the first time and then lock it again at about 15 degrees with a torque of about 7! !The second time, tighten it by about 30~45 degrees. Of course, those who are afraid of overlocking or are inexperienced should still use a torque wrench.
As for the gap between the valve top tube and the valve stem, for my #escape (applicable to old #foucs, old #Mazda6, old #Mazda5, #Cubit, ... and other similar engines), the intake valve is between 0.23~0.28, and the exhaust valve is between 0.27~0.33
In the situation I encountered, there were problems with 2 or 3 parts of the intake valve, and the gap was too small. The reason was that I put it in the wrong position, so according to the number and size of the jack that I recorded, after exchanging it, there was only one valve left, which was 0.2 That's it. If the gap is small, you can grind the valve ejector tube or valve stem. Because the ejector tube is made of a special alloy, and the angle of the point to be ground is small and difficult to grind, so in the video I directly grind the valve stem. I could only grind a little bit at a time, but in the end I still polished it more than it should. The gap after grinding was 0.3mm, which was too big, so I added an #adjustment shim. The adjustment shim was bought online and is specially used for molds imported from Japan. The #gap adjustment shims are usually 0.0x thickness and are sold in rolls of 1 meter or several meters. The one I bought is 0.05mm, so I only need to pad one
After cleaning and assembling and adjusting the valve clearance, you must finally confirm whether there is a gap between the valve and the valve chamber and whether there is air leakage. There are two ways to confirm. I showed them in the video. The first way Just turn the cylinder head upside down, pour in engine oil and soak it for a day or so, and observe whether the oil flows into the valve chamber. The second is to pour engine oil or lubricating oil directly into the valve chamber and observe whether it leaks.
