I'm in Laos, one of the lesser-known countries in Southeast Asia. I set out from Vientiane, the capital of the country, and embark on a journey north along the Mekong river. I pass through lush green mountains and take breaks in villages built on river banks. Most of the country lives in villages and I stop by the village markets to better understand life here. Laos is currently in economic crisis, yet the people I meet are smiling. In the markets, I encounter bats, giant mice and frogs that I have never seen before. Enjoy watching.
