You shouldn't mistake her making conscious choices for her not being able to sing like she used to, she actually said (and showed on screen) that she can do her lows *easier* now than in the 90s and yet you thought that she couldn't anymore ;)

Hi Stanley. Always great to see you react to Lara 😄 thanks for picking the footage I filmed! Just a few observations. When you say you noticed she’s not able to sustain as long as she used to: i have to disagree. I attended 4/5 shows she did in June and I can tell you there were times she sustained for her LIFE😅. This version of Caruso is just a different interpretation. In other performances, she sustained a little more, or a little less, depending on how she was feeling it 😜 As for the lows: she can very much make them as breathy as she used to (she did it on other songs/dates) but she chooses not to. She acc talked about her range recently and said her lows come way easier to her. Nowadays, because her voice has slightly lowered with age, she doesn’t need to force them out as much and can hit them with a clearer and more connected sound ! As for the rest, i totally agree with you. I was truly shocked to hear how young and the same she sounded being 52. She’s taken amazing care of her voice, despite all the health issues she’s had. A force to be reckoned with! 😍

I would have been crying the entire concert just to be part of her talent for one night.

Honestly I was there at this concert (it's actually my friend recording ahah) and it was incredible. I think she chose to do a more laid back version of the song, but it was very touching to be honest. It really did make me cry. I understand what you said about her not belting as loud or doing he lows as dramatic as she used to but I can tell you being in that audience was incredible for that song. You should also check her performing "Si tu m'aimes" (To Love Again) it was amazing for that show as well.

In an audience recording, often a lot of the subtleties of the notes are lost.

Hi Stanley. And once again nice reaction. Of course. You are her fan, right? 😁She sounds little different than she did 22 years ago. And so it should be. But all in all her voice is still amazingly similar and powerful. And her range hasn't diminished at all. Unbelievable. You mentioned her sustain ability, in that i have to disagree with you. With this song you can't make that kind of conclusion, because she is deliberately changing her style to sing this song, to more emotional. She sings these songs quite often in different way and nowadays this song has even more meaning to her after her mom passed away. She is belting and sustaining notes in other songs almost exactly like before, which is just crazy. But she is doing it maybe a little less frequently. Cheers!

Hello Stanley, this is the most beautiful tribute I have ever heard from Lara. Although she is not successful in the United States, she is still a big international star. His career and his albums are magnificent. To see her still sing like that today is so moving. Please give her what she deserves. Be well Stanley 🙏

Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar It has very quickly become a classic of italia music and the biggest names have covered it (Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, …. and of course Luciano Pavarotti). But for many, Lara's version is the best ever, as she was able, with her unique ability to convey the emotions of a song, to reveal the real sad story written by Lucio Dalla. I was told that Lucio Dalla himself, after hearing this performance, said that she made it her song and this is the best version he has heard from it. The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her. For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Her husband is also sicilian.

Great work per usual, Stanley. I believe this was her first concert in Montreal on her 'Best of Lara Tour', I saw her a bit later in Quebec City and judging from a few conversations, she was very much back in gear, not to diminish her first few dates before reaching Qc. Frankly, her belting and dynamics were vintage Lara when I had the pleasure of seeing her. One has to keep in mind that she's 52 and has been off the 'live' stage over the past few years due to Covid.
