She's singing in Italian. Pavarotti has a version of this on KZitem and sings it flawlessly, but Fabian lets you feel each word. The song of a dying man to his young wife is powerful and compelling. Her pronunciation in English is excellent as well. "You're Not From Here" and "Adagio" are good examples

What is the best way to request a specific artist/video/performance that I’d like you to hear & give a reaction to? You probably already did some request I’d ask for (I’m a new subscriber) but I have a few I think you’d like a lot that I’d like to recommend in case you haven’t seen/heard them already. You’ve done a lot of great ones that I watched and I love the exposure it brings to them in the world, I think that’s amazing in itself. You should be very proud of yourself for spreading so much great music with such diversity. I love your channel and what you do. I have listened to so many different styles/genres throughout my life & I know there’s a never ending list of great musicians to be exposed to. I wanna do my part to also help keep great music alive!

"I don't think I've ever seen anyone become the song, as much as I've seen her". Forget all the vocal coaches. That's the best description of Lara's talent. Even though she has an amazing and powerful voice, I never think about octaves when she sings; that's because every breath, every octave, every inflection, are all in the service of living the lyrics and making the audience FEEL them. She is truly a stunning artist. No wonder Dimash has so much respect for her. And thanks to him, thousands upon thousands of people are rediscovering her, and some discovering her for the first time. I hope she got to see your reaction to her. And she remembers the night when she gave her all on that stage.

there are many, many singers ..... several of those singers are very good ...... that being said, there are only a few artists, those who perform the song believably .... then there is Lara Fabian who not only sings the song and performs the composer's intended emotions but invites the audience to journey WITH her into that piece and feel the emotions within. There is only one Lara Fabian ....... she is in my mind the ultimate master musical artist.

The language of the song is Italian but it has some parts of a southern Italian dialect (Naples) mixed into it. The line 'Te voglio bene assai', which is translated here as 'I love you very much' is more like a 'I love you so dearly'. They are very tender and affectionate words that have no direct translation into English. The song is about the famous Italian opera singer Enrico Caruso, who died of an illness at the age of 48, and knowing that, thought of his incumbent death while saying good-bye to his - probably - daughter.

Sir, Just sharing. She was already a Diva in Europe way back in 1998. ( a young Diva), and she does not want to be called one. Since for her you need to prove your worth for 10-20 years before being called one. And the Diva thing was more of an American publicity gimmick to market the vocal trinity. And theres that typical conception of the minds of many that A Diva rides on a luxury car, and seems to be untouchable or hard to reach. She pointed out that, thats not her.

Yeah, there are a few other female artists I can think of that shows this kind of emotion in some of their live performances such as Barbara Streisand, Kate Bush/Tori Amos, Eivør, Alison Moyet, Aurora, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Sara Bareilles, Sinead O'Connor and Beth Heart. It is mostly a style more used on the musical scene, but I purposefully only mentioned singers not from that vein of music. Lara Fabian definitely is especially gifted in this type of dive into character.
