Absolutely lovely. I was watching Jennifer Hudson the other day, and she was asked do you warm up or have vocal exercises? She asked for a mic, cleared her throat, and went from “0-100 mph”. Ok. I’ve warmed up, she got a good laugh, and clarified that sings around the house everyday. But, I do not have a formal exercise & quickly said, am I interviewing you or are you interviewing you? That’s a Gospel Singer vs a Classical Singer. I never thought I would hear a singer/writer who could tell a story singing as well as Dolly Parton. Then I discovered Lara Fabian who has the vocal skills of an angel & tell a story while doing so. Three lovely ladies that are joyfully funny too. 🦋❤️🦋

One of the reasons i respect her so much is this . The fact that she is continuing to better herself even if she s reached a certain level. Always improving, always learning. The thinking is not" oh, I am already good enough so i can relax now " which is translated in the actions she s taking through these lessons and warm ups and everything in between. And regarding the freedom that she s talking about is visible and also you can see for yourself what she means even if you re not a singer . Because she s practicing and learning constantly, she s making it look like is so easy and also she s able to bring that extra emotion ( in the majority of the songs) exactly because she knows exactly what she s capable of doing. This was great Gaby , have a great day ! 💞🙌

I find it fascinating that she can still hold her high notes in particular as well as she used to. In the menopause from the end of 40 onwards, the hormonal effect of testosterone increasingly predominates over oestrogen, the production of which slowly ceases. This leads to increased blood flow to the vocal folds and to thickening of the mucous membrane, which makes the female voice deeper and the vocal range smaller. This is also the reason why some female opera singers undergo oestrogen treatment at this stage of their lives, the risk of which again has to be considered in a differentiated way. (I happen to have a little to do with this professionally 😅)

Menopause doesn’t necessarily decrease vocal range. It definitely deepens your voice and your tessitura sits lower than it used to but essentially, the range can remain the same. Quite a few female vocalists (mostly some who were famous in the 70s 80s) like Patti Labelle, Yolanda Adams have pretty much the same vocal ability. I believe if you don’t overwork your voice and if you take care of it by practicing regularly, you will achieve longevity. That’s what these ladies, including Lara, have done.

If we’re talking about mainstream music, you can absolutely generalize. Most famous singers (especially in the US) neglect vocal technique. Some of them don’t even warm up (Ariana grande, Jennifer Hudson) which is a must NOT…

Y Lara sigue cantando. La vida siempre cobra las malas acciones.
