Pacer's Center LaSalle Thompson puts his hand on Larry Bird's back at 11:54 after the game when Bird came back, and after the game said, "I wanted to touch greatness."

He was beat on by every team and the target of each teams enforcer and any player who guarded him and he never took pain killers in my mind he is the GOAT. He was a winner and he made his teams better

Imagine what today's league would look like if everyone had this kind of drive and willpower. We'd have a whole bunch of Kobes and Birds on the court pushing each other to do better, fight harder, and achieve more.

Bird was actually on the cover of SI with the goggles on the March 21 of 1988 Issue = titled "The Legend Lives On". I also recommend the book by Peter May titled "The Big Three". In this book Bird admits to playing in games where his feet could not feel the floor!! Also Bird said he had to spend days lying on the floor to take the weight and pressure off of his spine just so he could play in the next game. Bird said he was "lying on the floor and eating my meals like a dog". This guy was incredible.

Why did you skip the toe infection story ? For those who didn’t get to see it because you skipped it : Larry had a nasty toe infection that he played on for weeks before he actually admitted to it to the team doctor. Upon examination, the doc discovered that the infection was actually between the toes and would need to be cut open to let it drain. Larry refused to allow the doctor to shoot Novocaine in it to numb the pain - he just asked for a beer from the locker room cooler as his “pain relief”. He pounded the beer and then told the doc to go ahead. It required a *2.5”cut between his toes* to drain it. Then Larry got it wrapped, suited up and *played that same night*. After the game, the wrap and the inside of his shoe was a bloody mess. P.S. We didn’t tell you about the goggles because we left a surprise for you lol

Didn't have social media back then and most of the News was read in the Newspaper. Younger Generation seem to forget that we didn't have any social media News. No ESPN no sports channels but on occasion they would have game's on the Weekend's and if they never knew how could they mention it to the public. Larry Bird is the G.O.A.T. Not Labron James or Michael Jordan they couldn't wear his jock strap. Larry Bird would School both and tell them what he was going to do before he does it on them.

the media was one of the biggest reason these conversations were started and honestly Larry and Magics Commercial is revolutionary because they were the first.

Yeah, if it wasn't for Magic and Larry, we wouldn't even have a sport to watch. Jordan is definitely good, but you know Bird put that fight in him.

You're still not coming up when I search Larry Reactions. Something isn't right about that. I don't know if you're aware, or even if you can do anything, but it seems really odd. Seems like only your channel won't come up when I search. i just want to make sure you know about this; may it's only me. Who knows? Nice video though. Enjoyed it as always!

I’d be interested in knowing if it’s his actual biological grandson. Larry Bird had only one biological daughter from his first wife. From what I hear, he didn’t really give her much attention, despite her also playing basketball. He does have two other adoptive children with his second wife, a boy and a girl. The son had one known incident with the law, but nothing else. Not much is known about the daughter. So I was interested in knowing who was the grandchild related to. Whether Bird’s knowledge passed down and influenced them…?
