I'm the magichuuuun....cast a spell on you....bake you an apple pie ...with no alaaaabiiiiize...dadadada..lol..we used to goof on that tune, but we loved the heck out of it. I used to listen to this all the time. It's wild how music, sights and smells can take u right back to the people, places and "feelings" of a particular time......always mixed for me for sure. Larry is def. on my life soundtrack of the late 80's to early 90's for sure. Thanks for the post!

There's NO OTHER guitarist in the entire world that plays guitar like this~!~ I've studied Larry's playing style for years,, and he combines 3 of the most difficult techniques on guitar,,, 1) string bending! And bending to a perfect pitch always! 2) sliding in and out of target notes and bending the final note while using fabulous vibrato flawlessly! 3) Vibrato technique! He has more than 3 styles of vibrato! He seamlessly use4s these 3 techniques to create what most people get the goosebumps over ..................... I'm ONE of them!!!! LOL!!!! Mr. Larry Carl-Tone~!~

Found this way back in the mid 80s. His tune for love alone was on the soundtrack of Against all Odds.

I found out about Larry Carlton in 1980 through this album and fall in love with his guitar playing and his music, Larry was the most in demand session guitar player in the seventies in the USA, he played in the seventies in more than 100 different albums, he also has a great solo career, Larry is one of my favorites guitar players of all times, he's on my list of 15 best and greatest guitar players of all times, thanks for sharing.

Are you talking about "Mulberry Street"? Larry experimented with the song and tried to create a certain sound he wanted! But he can play the solo at the speed you here on this album,, look it up here on youtube,, I found it several years ago! Cheers!!!!

He was shot in the throat during a home invasion. He had suggested some songs before that incident.

Actually I think he has a nice voice. Probably never really pushed his limits with that, but I like his vocals.

I played this album on cassette every day when out in the car as a young lad looking for the ladies and generally getting up to mischief as you do. I would neglect the last song always and rewind the tape as the last song wasn't 'driving music' too too slow for my lifestyle. To listen to it now as an old man relaxing in retirement I can now appreciate it more, what a beautiful sound it is. FOR LOVE ALONE.

nice life story and experience that you had appreciating the good music of Larry Carlton ... and if it is as you say the first songs come with a lot of power and the last one to relax a little after listening to the good sound of Carlton's guitar !! if you tell me which guitarist I like the most .. I couldn't answer you .. there are so many that I like .. and of different styles .. I like Benson, Montgomery, Joe Pass, Barney Kessell, Tony Mottola, Al di Meola, Santana, Chet Atkins ... uff it's a long list .. but hey I'm glad that listening to this Carlton album brings him good memories of yours .. keep up with me and greetings from Argentina ... atte Carlos ( Planetomania)
