Kids nowadays are not as fortunate as kids of the past. We had NO MONEY back then but were richer than millionaires with this type of music, the food the get togethers, the dancing, the drinking, the playing of chalupas ,cards, dominoes, horseshoes, the family and friends. My name is JERRY CANTU son of orlando cantu and marisela guardian and I thank the lord everday for being born when i was and for being raisedthe way I was. I lost bothof my parenta in 2020 and it hurt very much, but i have a family of my own and it is my duty to be there for them and raise them right. Thats why every saturday we fill up the pool and the pits and listen this song and many more fromthe past so that we may not ever forget where and who we came from❤

Wow, this song brings back memories of my mom & dad and them listening to a static filled radio station early in the morning while my mom is making breakfast, the smell of something delicious in the frying pan and the smell of coffee and freshly made tortillas. I am not even Mexican but this music feels nostalgic. I didn’t even grow up around Hispanics till I was 10. Never even appreciated tacos till well into my adulthood. But I don’t know what it is about this music, it’s got a hold on me like I grew up with listening to it since my childhood. All good family memories and feelings flood my senses. Was this my identity in my last life? Idk, but it makes me wonder. A wonder only something as pure as music can bring to one’s heart.

They played this at my uncles funeral last week. It truly was the anthem of the Chicano movement when they were still fighting for civil rights. We owe that generation a debt of gratitude because they stood up when the laws did not protect them. I hope we have the courage to do the same when and if those hard won rights are ever taken away. Ben might think its garbage, I doubt he has any idea what the Chicano movement was even about. Just enjoy the rights this generation fought for Ben, they have already been paid for.

We played this song in your funeral and we still play it often. This song keeps me so close to you, brings me love, brings me pain, brings me joy and wonderful memories of you. I hear this song and it brings me back to my pre-teens. My mom and tia would sing this song while my tio would play it on the organ. And if not that, they would have big house parties and play it off the 8 Track stereo and blare it loud. I can remember the ladies in the kitchen cooking and being chismosas. And the men in the back yard drinking Tecate or Dos Equis talking about cars and women. Good times.

Lo mejor en música chicana son unos maestros No tuve la dicha de verlos en vivo pero me hubiera encantado verlos y escucharlos El que hacía los arreglos mis respetos de otro nivel pero en general todos son unos maestros Saludos desde Mexico

Memories of this when my sister and brother would stay the weekends at my grandparents. I remember this song playing on the radio while my abuela would make breakfast with homemade tortillas.
Good Memories of living with my older Sister and her family she played all types of Music but Lil Joe LA Familia stuck in my mind

I Wholeheartedly Dedicate this song to my Beloved Husband Mike. We met at a Little Joe dance in our hometown San Antonio Convention Center. We danced to this song and all other songs after that all night. FOREVER MY LOVE BABE!💜✝️💜✝️💜✝️
