I am about to pull the trigger on a 50w JPT fiber laser with EZCAD2. I currently own a 30w CO2, and I want to use LightBurn for both. I want to add a fiber laser because I am turning down work that is often better suited for a fiber. This video has opened up my eyes and answered questions I didn't even know I needed to ask. I am no longer worried about whether I was about to make the right decision. Thanks.

Thanks, great info, I like the exhaust fan entrance frame, I will set-up one like it and have you thought about adding a dowel or two to the entrance frame so when you position it the short dowel/dowels will drop into the holes to hold it exactly where you want it.

Cool channel, can you do black marks on anodized aluminum?
@LaserEngraving911

YES you can with a MOPA laser, and the aluminum needs to be clear anodized.

@@LaserEngraving911 Have you tried looking for a filtration unit for it?
@LaserEngraving911
Жыл бұрын
@@mrSanders. You need to buy a special filtration unit for fibers lasers that can handle the dust collection aspect of vaporized metal particulates, normal fume extractors are a poor choice, because the metal dust will clog up the filters very quickly, so if you need a fume extractor for a fiber laser, be careful what you buy, and make sure its designed for fiber lasers and metal dust particulates, and not a Co2 laser fume extractors, now with that said if your only using your fiber laser for polymers, and plastics, then you can use a standard fume extractor.

Hi, I discovered you today, I really like Co2, I don't have any yet, it's still expensive for me ;( , but I'm watching your tutorials and what it's possible to do with these machines. If you see machines for beginners like me, that I can keep with an intermediate level, I would like some advice, because I'm "afraid" of being ripped off by a Chinese machine.

Thanks for subbing! and commenting! I like to tell my subscribers to always pick a machine that has lots of online support forums, good customer service, and a good track record. Look to see if there are good FB forums supporting the use of the machine your looking at., or forum on reddit, if you don't see big support groups, then most likely the machine is not very good, and if you see in the support groups that everyone is having problems with that machine, that's a bad sign too. I never know what someone budget is so its hard to recommend machines, but I can say for sure that good Co2 laser machines usually start at about 2500-3000, anything below that and your getting into the crap zone. Very interesting and informative video. Is there any chance of getting a file I can download for each of the settings you use? Everything I do is on anodized aluminum and it's definitely a trial and error process to get it right. Thanks.
