This captures the essense of Project Recover (then, BentProp Project) so well. Their later efforts led to the discovery of my cousin's B-24 in Papua New Guinea under 200 feet of water. And they're still going strong today--very grateful for this team.

My Father at 20 years old was the youngest member of VMF-114. He survived his time in combat and fathered 4 children who are immensely proud of him. Rest in peace Lt. "Wink" Balzer. Thank you for all you are doing at the BentProp project, lest we forget.

The interview with the Japanese officer is remarkable, if deeply unsettling. Amazing historical document.

This is an incredibly poignant video and I'm so very thankful to have had the privilege of watching it. The many tears I cried were for all that gave their lives for our freedom. I am thankful, too, for Pat and the BentProp team for their work to bring the MIAs home and discover more about our past. I am even grateful for the interview with the former Imperial Army soldier - it took a lot of courage for him to admit what he did and that he never questioned his orders. I can appreciate the fact that as a young soldier, you don't value another life - it is the enemy - and that's all you know. It was almost as if they weren't human beings, they were American monsters. War brainwashes soldiers it's the only way they can survive the hell they endure and create. Thank you to the families that shared their loved ones with us. They allowed us to see the ravages and reality of the MIA - it was not just a soldier who was lost - it was entire families. I am so thankful for this video and the education it gave me ... even at 60 years old, I am still able to learn and feel.

So great to see the voids in these families being filled. To see the fading memories of our lost and fallen, that families have tucked away from anguish. These men and their heroism will now live in in their families for generations.

An incredible film and a wonderful teaching opportunity for our youth. The sacrifices our soldiers, sailors and airmen made during WWII need to be taught and reinforced to this and future generations. The determination of Bent Prop and Project Recover to find and recover our servicemen is remarkable.

This entire story is so powerful and full of emotion. Watching Tetsuji Katsuyama being interviewed about the POWs and their execution really moved me. To see the other side of the story so many years later and hear how he saluted the grave was incredibly interesting to hear.

after 65+ years of being blown out of the sky and then being absorbed into the tropical jungle environment can make metal take on a very unrealistic appearance.
