I played this today on my phone as I stood in my backyard, faced in the direction of the battlefields of Flanders (where my great grandfather and great great uncle died) and paid my respects to them and all the other brave men, women and animals that served to protect the world from tyranny. Today is November 11th, 2018. One century exactly since the guns finally fell silent, the last day of the "war to end all war" (H.G. Wells) LEST WE FORGET

Guardsman Gregory. I can only thank you so very much and explain why. My old School here in Bradford Yorkshire has an indoor memorial to those who died in WWI, WWII and subsequent conflicts. On behalf of the former pupils association I am running a project to remember all those who died as a result of service in WWI. On the 100th anniversary of the death of each we hold a remembrance service at which we pray for future peace, hear a biography of the man in question produced by my colleague. The biography gives his family background; his time at School; what he did after school; how he enlisted and served and finally the regimental description of the action in which he died and how he died. This is followed by a recital of John McCraes' In Flanders Fields during which a memorial cross bearing a poppy is placed with those of all previous. Immediately after there are the words of Remembrance followed by The Last Post, minutes silence and The Rouse. and closing prayers. The music is customarily played by one of three School trumpeters on the adjoining balcony of the Price Hall. On occasions when a pupil is not available to play we play the recording of you via laptop and amplifier. And so your playing sounds out across our part of the City. On 1st July (first day of the Battle of the Somme) it was a whole School service when we remembered 14 former pupils who died that day 100 years ago. On that occasion, all three trumpeters played in unison. Your recording was adopted as the model for the three. Over the summer holidays we have remembered some 19 others and you have played for most of them. So a major THANK YOU from this side of the pond. With every good wish, P Trevor Smith.

Thank you, Ann. Tonight, for some reason, I'm in deep thought with a sense of sorrow for all those whose chose to stand up to foreign tyranny; those who lost their lives for our liberty and all those who returned wounded both physically and/or emotionally. I doubt very much that we'll ever see a generation like that again. I do hope you get to play it at Canada's National Remembrance Day ceremony - because you played it so well.

Hello Guardsperson Gregory. Thank you for this offering. These are not easy pieces to play! I'm putting together an online worship service for Remembrance Day at church and wondering if I could have your permission to use your video as part of it? If you would kindly let me know asap, that would be wonderful. Our service is this Sunday. You can email me at jessica@trinityunitedottawa.ca. I would definitely cite it properly, recognizing you as the musician. The service will be on KZitem on Sunday November 8th. Thanks in advance!

This Remembrance Day here in Canada, 2016, God bless and keep those men and women, some, all too young, save in heaven. Not to fight for personal glory but to fight as the call was made , to arms, to protect our way of live and our freedoms, thousands of kilometres away , too far away from the rocky shores of our country and home ; at the going down of the sun, and in the morning , we will remember them.

Most places in the US observed Veterans Day yesterday, Nov 11, 2017. In the UK, Canada, and Australia, Armistice Day was observed yesterday and then Remembrance Day is observed today, Sunday, Nov 12. Many people heard "Taps" played by buglers all over the US yesterday. I thought it might be interesting to hear "Last Post" and "Rouse" played as it will be today. Here it is.

Just checking out last-minute YT’s versions of Last Post & Reveille. I'm actually playing Last Post & Reveille myself this coming Friday 11-Nov-11 and Sun 13-Nov-11 @ Prestatyn Parish Church, in lovely North Wales. Haven't played it for about 25 years... so wish me luck. Tense & tear-jerking though it may be, it's always a great opportunity to pay a personal tribute and to encapsulate the thoughts of others present, as we pay our respects to those who gave and to those are no longer with us.

Please don't be simple. And don't degrade yourself to the guy that acts big on the internet, for your sake. The thousands of Irish that served are as bad as the British, and American, and Indians etc. that killed and imprisoned innocent people. Just because they're Irish does not mean they are absolved of the Empirical crime. And I could care less about America, but to rise to your invalid point how did they "backstab" them when Irish were second class citizens for centuries in the USA?

Hi dappawap There are alot a fake bugle's on the market therefore if the sound your getting is of poor quality on a Bb Bugle then you might not have purchased the real thing. McQueen's make the most popular UK version and these retail for £195 plus VAT & Shipping. The calls you will find on KZitem of myself sounding are all Cavalry/RHA rather than Infantry calls. Therefore, you will see me with either an Eb Cavalry Trumpet or Eb State Trumpet. Search via Light Cavalry HAC.
