I latch hooked a tiger throw rug in the early 90s for my toddler son because his grandfather called him tiger. I didn’t attach the head to the body because it had to be stuffed and now I’m going to finish it because your video reminded me of a long ago project. My son is 32, lol.

Thank you for your very positive fiber arts video describing all the possibilities for latch hooking. I have latch hooked since I was a teenager. I am 70 yrs old. There are so many ways to latch hook & all you ever hear people say is that they remember the cute little kits they made when they were 10 years old. I cringe every time I hear that statement. I use a frame because I work on bigger rugs. Latch hooking is so peaceful & takes you out of your head. You can escape for a few hours at a time & have a beautiful creation when you are finished. Loved all the fibers you used. Thank you for making this video.

Thank you for showing me how you cut your yarn. I have so many skeins of cool yarn from a few years back just put away in a box. Different colors and textures. Recently I decided to do latch hooking again, not done since the late 70’s. Now I can use what I have & not have to buy precut yarn in materials I don’t really care for. Thank you! 🌸

I've been playing with using a latch hook to chain stitch on burlap, it works really well for that.

I'm busy with my third pure wool latch hooked rug. The oldest is over 40 years old,and is still in perfect condition. I will only do such a big project in wool.

Thanks Deana for the quick overview of latch hooking! A great short video giving over the basics. I am wondering if hooking T-Shirts onto a Latch hook backing could make a very quick and inexpensive rug?

That's a brilliant combo. The latch backing is more expensive that I thought, but still less than traditional rug hooking backings, and with the t-shirts, it would be a super great project that would come out just as beautiful as anything

I was thinking of using denim on latch backing for a rug. Then I can use all those jeans that don’t fit anymore! 😄

Just fell upon your wonderful vid, def subscribed. I always thought latch hooking rugs were only for kids, as I did one when I was about 10 yrs old. You've brought a different artistic perspective to this. Also, do you have a tutorial for the earrings?

Perfect! However it works it's great! sometimes it's better to just go for it without thinking about the way other people work and you create your own perfection!
