Those 2901 9838s in the gym sounds great actually reminds me of the 2901 9838s in my gym in my school

Gosh I love older systems like this, especially when there’s mechanical horns involved. That one horn at 4:53 might just be the best sounding Simplex horn I’ve ever heard!

Those old Faraday Mechanical horns NEVER get old. Always my favorites. And that 4100 is beautiful, I want of those panels badly haha. This system is a dream system for me lmao. Love the video as always man, and thanks for the Sync/Coding modules!

A summer camp I went to has those, but the strobe is on the bottom, and they are on continuous. It went off one time and it lead me to believe that someone set it off for nothing.

The Summit county jail in Ohio still has its original 1990 Simplex 4100 classic system! Initiating devices are Simplex 2098 whiffle-ball smokes (conventional TrueAlarm units replacing some of the former) and some of the last 4251-20s. Signaling devices are 4903-9100 series strobe plates (some have Gentex strobe units) with 9838 horns. yes, I had to spend a night there for shouting a crap ton of insults at my HS (I'm a senior). The Youngstown industrial history museum has much of the same hardware except the panel is a 4002 and the signals are rear mount 2903s with 9806 horns. All those 4251-30s with the shot/missing glass break components remind me of the ones at my former HS (the same one as LeBron James).

Ooooh, an early Simplex 4100! There used to be a mall near my work area that had a Simplex 4100 system from 1991, set up in a conventional manner with a 4603-9101 LCD panel in the security office, 2901-9838 horns on 4903-9101 strobe plates, 4251-21L pull stations with Stopper covers, 2098-9201 photoelectric detectors (and at least one TrueAlarm), and that was just the main mall concourse and food court! (Several stores had TrueAlert horn/strobes and conventional TrueAlarm detectors.) Back before the Simplex 4005 came out, if you wanted a conventional software-based Simplex fire alarm system, a 4100 with zone cards was the way to go.

The 4002 also exists…

@@officialsimplexguy, yeah, but that was still hard-wired. Even if it was still conventional, a 4100 with ZAMs would have additional conveniences like an LCD display and annunciator, and easier expansion options.

Awesome vid! Not that Continuous L-Series. Why does every Simplex have to be replaced with System Sensor, when they could just replace the devices with their own brand?

Part of me wonders because the pulls were break glass if there were 4051s there at some point.
