The pelargonium in the left hand corner of the picture has a wonderful colour to it. Thanks for showing us how to stop and trim back.

Sir I had one question, I got 2 pelargoniums this year and they have been blooming very well for me and I wanted to collect their seeds, I have been hand pollinating them all but out of 10 clumps of flowers only one seed pod developed, could there be any specific thing I am doing wrong? Thanks!

Not necessarily. A lot of it depends on timing. The pollen needs to be fresh and quite young having just emerged and the stigma you are pollinating should not be more than a couple of days open. When I do it I only get a relatively small success rate so you are probably not doing too much wrong. D

Hello I am new to your channel. Wondering if you sell your plants and if you send to the USA?

Sorry no. Anyway the US does not accept any live plant material sent from Europe.

Also sir pls let me know how I trim ivy perlagoniums in hanging baskets too as they have gone woody and bits hanging off are green.. So wondering to which point should I be trimming them .. Also if I took cuttings of these from the trimmed branches will they root and flower this year??
@thepagsociety

You can cut Ivy’s in much the same way as others although as they grow quite fast I don’t over-winter those and pot up new baskets each year. By taking cuttings now they might just grow enough to make a plant this year but they will flower this year.

Thanks for inspiring us with great info as usual... I have had perlagoniums from 2 years and am just learning to care for them better after I got ur channel.. Thanks for that... I havent so far pruned them so are very odd shapes, tall and sone dead stems etc.. When is the right time to trim them and get into shape like yours round and bushy.. Pls point me to those videos if u already have them.. I did not attempt to trim them until now as they may not dry well and rot.. I can see that they are do ringing back nicely and putting in new growth. So can I trim them back now?

The main times are now, before the new spring growth, and in the early autumn, at the end of the main growing season. It will though depend on where you are. This would be in a temperate climate.

Hey I’m new to the channel! I have a question about these plants. Are they succulents? They have succulents stems and they’re pretty drought resistant. My second question is do bees and butterflies like these plants because I’ve almost never seen a bee around mine. (Only seen 2 bee pollinating a bush but that’s all)

Hi and thanks for joining the channel. Pelargoniums are not botanically succulents although some behave fairly similarly and some do have tuberous roots. Bees prefer the single flowering varieties and particularly the blousy Regal group. D
