Yes and no, it depends. so I agree that mass immigration especially of uneducated immigrants can be a drain on resources Australia is also currently has birth rates below replacement levels, which means less people under 67 which also means less productivity and a weaker economy as time goes on. Well, I'm not greedy like Indian immigrants. I work from home in India, I have a beautiful fiance with my parents and little sister. I enjoy festivals, relatives and food. I'm happy here. For Australians, I have an idea or advice whatever u assume. Australia can green the desert. You can follow planting, drip irrigation techniques, and the use of treated wastewater for irrigation.
@Nathan-ry3yu
2 ай бұрын
@user-nv7mc8mr2k Australia is only 34% desert. And it's a red dry dirt, not a sandy desert, as it is in the Middle East. That still leaves an area almost as large as Europe habitable. Or an area 20× larger than UK habitable, however you want to look at it. As to making the red centre of Australia greener would take too much money as it hardly gets any rain there. It is very flat, torain and the location of where it is has to do with the tilt of the earth as why it gets so hot there. you looking at well over 50c degrees. Any dripping system wouldn't work it would evaporate before it could irrigate anything. It's so hot the tar on the road melts.. There is talk in the future of flooding it instead by having an inland sea will reflect the sun, causing cooler conditions for the rest of the landscape for better climate conditions. Australia problem with housing isn't land. Australia has more than enough land to support a billion people with room to spear. Australia is much larger than India. The state of Queensland alone is almost 2 and half times the size of india. That is a very green state. With tropical rainforest in the north... The problem in Australia is that building societies have purchased a lot of land. And re selling it for 8x the price for what they purchased it for 2 decades ago. Business owners are also buying up property for a manolply. And overseas buyers joining in the manolply market of buying up Australian homes and land. For what a block of land cost 2 decades ago $60k is now selling for arround $400k plus the cost to build a home. The government has allowed so many migrants into Australia that housing can't keep up. As the average person can no longer afford it , fewer homes have been built as it was 2 decades ago. The large migration has caused inflation for demand of housing has become harder to come by pushing up the prices. The economy is suffering under the labour government policies that have pushed up interest rates and supplies. That has already cost the country of several building companies to go bust. Australia does not have the housing or jobs to support a large migration system. Australia, for many decades, had a controlled migration system that this new government has ignored to keep. In 2 years. Australian government allowed 700k migrants to enter Australia while theirs luckily to have 30k extra homes been built in a year. This has caused people to be left out of housing and living with parents or for some unlucky people have to living in a tent till some house becomes available. More people left out of opportunity to afford a home =less homes been built and more people renting. More migrants = more on the renting house.. leaving less house available. The average cost for a house in Australia is 600k..with the cost of living people can't afford a deposit. Especially when rents are going up. And utilities food fuel ext. Government and the rich have made it hard for everyone else

Excessive immigration and multiculturalism are creating division in Australia. It undermined social cohesion and the national identity. It creates ethnic enclaves...Chinese,Indian, Sudanese, Muslims...and consequently white flight. These ethnic groups have often an allegiance to their country of origin, their race or religion...not to Australia. We are 10 years behind Europe in terms of problems. Nevertheless there are talks of civil war in France since a few years caused by excessive third world immigration and islamisation. Most european countries are in this situation.

Of the boatload of people who came over with me that I kept in touch with, none went on welfare, worked hard and bought homes, paid taxes and contributed their skills. In those days the primary requirement to be allowed to migrate was evidence of skills that would benefit the country. Migration officers scoured British factories and workplaces for tradies. The other major intake was WWII refugees, such as my current in-laws. All of them were so grateful to be here that they worked hard and contributed a great deal, as did the other Europeans that came over in the 70s. I live in Australia. The rents are out of control. Housing prices are 13x the average income. Even if you are on 100k if you have a family this amount is not enough. What exactly are you uprooting yourself from your native country for. In my case we were in one of the crime capitals of the world. It should be a major reason to go through all this hardship and you may drop quality of life living in a small apartment.

It’s true, I live here too, no enough houses and prices going up everyday. My daughter trying to buy a house for years. I don’t know what is happening in this country. Very frustrating the government was force to stop immigration, can’t build more houses quickly enough for the new generation let alone more migrants, it will be chaotic.

What's wrong with that. 100 yrs back, Europeans came here for the gold rush and to settle - not to develop the aboriginals and improve the land. 250 yrs back Brits threw their most notorious criminals in here, so that they wouldn't trouble them back home. During 70s, Chinese businessmen came here to establish and expand their business. Now, the pathway is education. Why should someone waste 50k for a 3 yr course and help develop this country, if they don't get the worth back?

There’s a huge issue with shonky migration agents acting in Australia and offshore. However, to ensure accuracy, I've invited an expert to discuss the topic. Regarding the podcast, Victor emphasized that agents often mislead students, leading to unexpected challenges when they arrive in Australia. The video aims to highlight the importance of thorough research by students, rather than blindly following agents' advice Source of information in this video : • immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/news-media/archive/article?itemId=1211 • 485 visa changes : immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/temporary-graduate-485/changes • New citizenship application fees from 1 July 2024 : www.homeaffairs.gov.au/news-media/archive/article?itemId=1217 Work condition changes : immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/news-media/archive/article?itemId=1213

Not to say the usual 'we're full', but we have too many people here, the housing availability is scarce, the jobs vacancy rates are low or jobs are being replaced by robots or computers. We as a nation need to prioritise our own citizens that already live here and ensure they have the comfort to live and be able to support themselves.. if we had more houses and jobs to accommodate foreigners then sure, we should allow people to come here. Also, when is the government going to pass bills that ban foreign ownership of property? They should have done this years ago so the housing crisi would either be non existeny or not as much of a problem as it is now
