This gave me a nostalgic feeling about the old HF 9x20 lathe that I had for over a decade before upgrading to a Precision Matthews...I do sometimes kinda miss that old lathe...thanks.

Great timing on this project; I was going down a totally different path with CXA tool holders, but I'm giving it a rethink to use something closer to your 3D printed holders. Great idea.

These work great I made mine about 8 years ago out of 1x2 80 20. I also added some mounting holes to the face so they can easily mount to the wall with a couple screws.

@@RobertCowanDIY I don't know if your chip guard would handle it. But I also bent a piece a piece of aluminum so it would fit on the backside and come up level and drilled holes to hold Morris taper accessories drill chuck live centers ect.

What about chuck keys, tail stock tools?
@RobertCowanDIY
3 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea. I keep my chuck keys in another spot. I have several keys for all the drill chucks for my Tormach (with is right next to it) and my drill press. The top drawer on this cabinet have all the other lathe tools.

Thanks! I've seen a lot of variations, but 3d printing the little holders makes it more space-efficient and easier to make and use.

Such much metric!! Can you hear us cheering from the EU across the pond ^^!?
@RobertCowanDIY

Ha, I use both units quite a bit. Some things I just like metric better, and some other things I prefer inch/feet. But mostly, if I'm working with existing parts, I go straight to metric.
