In this video, I read a random story from the introductory third of the Cambridge Latin Course and Lingua Latina per se Illustrata. Both of these courses are capable of teaching and reinforcing Latin, but from just a storytelling perspective, which story fared better? I find that the CLC has really good examples of repetition used for literary effect (to indicate heightened emotion, insanity, or despair), whereas the LLPSI uses repetition constantly to reiterate the same information.
If you like this video, or if you think you'd want to see some of the intermediate or later stories compared, let me know and I can make more read-off story battles between textbooks.
