Great video. Just got my X wing. Been in a tree 5-6 times already. Love it. Bigger than my scout solo, sturdier than my Perch. I like the lightweight gear. Ordered the sticks too. Took amsteel daisy chain off my helium stick and scrapped the buckle. Too clangy. Ill run two sticks, three step aiders and get to 18’ +. All In under 5 lbs. Very quick to set up.

Its amazing how WILD saddle hunting and platforms have come. I remember buying the OG saddle (THE trophyline) back when I was in school and hunting after classes in 2009. There was little to no platform options back then and I used screw-in steps and it killed my arch of foot. I gave up a went climber. Now theres a plethora of options for saddles and platforms.....damn.

Great look into new platforms. I have a 2.8 mile hike into the new early season spot. I was wondering if you could list the top 3-5 platforms. That you tested for a long sits. It doesn't have to be in order. Just a factor of cost as well as comfort.

When your in your saddle set ur tether height where u want it and drop ur prussic know down and sit in your saddle more when using a ring of steps take some of that weight off ur feet and put it in the saddle.....like john eberhart says your saddle has a seat sit in it....your feet wont hurt as bad.....there is a sweet spot for ring of steps start high and drop the prussik down till u find it and get the weight odd ur feet and u can glide around the tree off your x wing platform and onto the ring of steps and hide from big buck using that tree as a blocker

Question about saddles. I rewatched your TX5 review. I am big guy also I own the Lattitude Method 2 XL partly thanks to your review. Comfort and general usage how does it compare to your TX5? TX5 everyone raves about them but those guys are all 150lb. Heck you could even do a big guy comparison video about saddles. Thank you

If u want a big boy rig of steps that are rock solid u could hang a four wheeler from look at cranford saddle scaffold....if u get them make sure and get an additional step or 2 because they come with 4 steps and a ratchet ideally if u use no platform for a quick hunt 6 steps is best....one at ur 6 oclock onat ur 8 and 4 one at 9 and three and one at ur noon which would be oppisite side of tree from u

Those deer are in trouble now buddy u get that ring of step thing down and its game over for big buck....also try sitting with ur upper 90 degrees to your shins and u will have more tether length to walk aroud the tree.....also look into treehopper ring of steps..... very good solid steps with really good traction for boots or shoes

Wow! IMO, that platform is dangerous because it’s so small. One little misstep in the excitement of making a shot and your hanging in your harness you BETTER BE WEARING! Not for me at all. Luckily, I have the ability to build and weld much larger and safer aluminum footing platforms. I’m sure they are heavier but not relevant when safety is concerned. My complete bottom unit weighs 6#12 oz. Aircraft grade aluminum 15/16” square tubing and 1/4” Al. plate. Love your review of this stand. 👍👍👀
