Jesse just wanted Walt to be proud of him that he finally applied himself and did his cook right by himself and wanted his approval and wanted him to help him set up the meet and vouch for him to Gus but bad day for Walt and he gets Jealous and territorially controlling and cut him down. That really hurt Jesse's feelings

To be fair to Walt, in my opinion the principal was being pretty flirtatious in earlier episodes. Don’t get me wrong, he shouldn’t have tried to kiss his boss. But I do think she was giving him subtle signals earlier.

5:15 -- RE: Is Meth addictive; A: Shortest possible answer is Yes, and humanity discovered this but good back in World War 2 because every single nation involved in the conflict had a brand-name "pep pill" that it handed out to its soldiers, sailors, and airmen so that they could stay awake and on high alert. Consequently, when WW2 ended there was a huge drug problem among most of the veterans, regardless of where they were, but it must have been extra difficult for countries such as Germany or Japan because of the amount of devastation on the whole. The USA obviously had a big influence on "drug culture" at the grassroots level, putting the name "upper" on drugs like amphetamine. Benzedrine has remained in use in the century since WW2, showing up prominently in places like the overland trucking industry.
@Ryan88881
12 сағат бұрын
I don't think Benzedrine (racemic amphetamine) has "remained in use" commercially. Formulas favoring more dextroamphetamine relative to levoamphetamine (instead of just 50/50) have largely been preferred since like the 1970s. Dexedrine and things like that. Or later, with what would become Adderall, which is essentially 75% dextro. Benzedrine is the super duper old-school one. Most street amphetamine is almost certainly racemic yes, but that's a different story.
@jamespfp

@@Ryan88881 I think it depends entirely on the country of manufacture, like in WW2. "Off-brand" alternatives exist and, in some cases, surplus stock from back in the day still exists. It's commercial depending on the jurisdiction, and perhaps recreational otherwise. I imagine there's still a few writers out there holed up in Mexico writing 36-48 hours non-stop until passing out. Whether anyone ever reads 'em is another matter.

@Ryan88881
15 сағат бұрын
@@nataschasummers Hah yeah he was lying. However, it's still worth noting that at this particular time in America (2008 - 2010), the anti-meth propaganda was really over-the-top and extreme and very exaggerated to the point of being pure fantasy. It's highly addictive, but the problem with that is many people aren't aware of what actually constitutes "highly addictive". Because it tends to just mean that the 'addiction/capture rate' is statistically closer to 25% than it is to 10%. Different places will have different numbers, but on average or overall the addiction rate for methamphetamine is about 20/21% from what I recall. Cocaine is about 19%, marijuana is about 8%, ketamine is about 15 - 19%, heroin is about 23/24% and nicotine is by far the highest at about 33%, or 1/3rd of people who try it.
