TV and radio presenter Laura Naylor sat down with our Director of Policy, Cameron Miller, to discuss our No Brainer campaign and why now is the time to call on the Government for a National Brain Tumour Strategy.
Years ago Laura started exhibiting signs of hearing loss and ringing in her right ear. Doctors put it down to tinnitus but after repeated visits to her GP, Laura was finally diagnosed with a Vestibular schwannoma - also know as an acoustic neuroma - a low-grade tumour which usually forms between the ear and the brain. Shocked and afraid, Laura was told that her only option was to have an operation, which led to the removal of her whole right ear and left her completely deaf in that ear.
Today Laura is living life to the fullest, working and living in the UAE. But she’s also passionate about raising awareness of brain tumours and encouraging people to visit their GPs if they feel something is wrong.
