At best these events can be considered a “bad idea” but saying immoral or unethical is a huuuge stretch in my opinion.

That's the entire problem. I'd say almost 100% people would agree it was dumb of Destiny to engage with Ana, but...ok? Beyond that, what's the problem? @adrianime5838

Well the problem with Mr. Girl is he thinks he basically has the logically deductive truth. And that leads to a power dynamic that is being abused. And the power dynamic basically takes precedence over adult sovereignty. With lav, she is either being fed Max's BS, or she needs to have a narative to describe why a friend she valued would treat her the way destiny has treated her (which is basically somewhat mean, and non-accommodating). With Ana, the "problem" depends on your perception of Ana. If you think she is a stalker, it's Destiny abusing a stalker. If you think she is mentally uncapable, it's Destiny abusing somebody who isn't all there. I happen to think Max is self-deluded, Lav is spiteful, and Ana is just an insecure woman.

Haha yeah, it's kind of a silly take form Ahrelevant when Max's video lays out evidence that logically follows rape. I am probably actually on Max's side for that story. I think Max probably did rape her in the moment, but I think she didn't regret it after all was said and done. It's a strange scenario that is too spicy for most people to talk about. Here is a parallel. Let's say I don't eat shrimp because of my religion. And a friend who knows my religion orders the best shrimp dish known to man. They put it in front of me and I eye it with a subtle amount of desire. They ask if I want any and I say, "no I don't". And they look at how I am eyeing the dish and find an opportunity while I'm laughing or something to shove a spoonful in my mouth. And let's say I think it's really good, and I ultimately decide I am going to eat shrimp from now on. Did my friend violate me by not getting consent? Does the outcome matter? Even if it was obvious to the friend.
@benjoleo
Жыл бұрын
@@adrianime5838 yes wtf. That's absolutely a violation of consent if you say "no" and they find a way to sneak it into your mouth. It's not actually analagous though. The thing that determines whether Mrgirl actually raped that woman is whether or not she intentionally gave him nonverbal consent. I agree with Destiny's take that you really shouldn't rely on nonverbal cues when you already got a clear "no", but if that woman came forward and said "yeah, I actually did give him a look to tell him to do it anyway and he correctly picked up on that" it would be insane to call mrgirl a rapist. But since we don't know her side of the story we should rely on mrgirl's testimony. It's kind of insane how many people are currently saying "yeah we believe everything about this story except for the part about that 'look' she gave him that would exonerate him"

@@benjoleo Well the problem is unless her verbal no sounded like a joke then it was rape regardless of the nonverbal cues. Like I know you could flirtatiously say "i don't REALLY want to......." I didn't get from the video that the verbal no was said in a joking manner though.

I think so many people are misunderstanding Destiny when he says "Lav is smart". Seems like people are interpreting that as "Lav is smart all the time". If you're familiar with skill caps for certain characters in video games, I think Lav is CAPABLE of moments of high intelligence. However, her intelligence is easily overridden by her emotions, over which she has zero control. So when she gets angry, when she gets sad, when she gets frustrated, her apparent intelligence goes out the window. If you've ever listened to her in a calm state, where she's not being attacked for something previously, and she's not attacking someone else, she is capable of intelligently following the conversation. Now functionally, this will look the same as a stupid person in 95% of scenarios we see publicly. I don't deny that. But to just say "ah, she's just stupid" I think misses the mark. Now if you said, 'she's crazy a lot, and when she's on a crazy spree she says and does stupid things", I think you'd have a better point.

Normally I find myself agreeing with Chud/AhR on a lot of issues but them not understanding how new information can change previous opinions/views on things you know about people is surprising. You can hold X stance on a situation that happened and change to Y stance once you gain additional information on that person. Destiny's stance change is not surprising and is probably similar to many others.

I think the "he held my secret over my head" thing is referring to when Destiny told her to not drop the Hasan nuke because it would destroy her. Because at the time she was still saying and implying that the person involved was underage, and Destiny knew that lying about that sort of thing will absolutely get you blown up in the debate sphere, which she herself admits she is scared of.

I am so late to the game but if I may, can I offer a perspective? Lav said originally she felt good about the sexual contact, I believe it made her feel special as she’s always wanted to feel based off of divulged information. It began to not feel right when she realized she was, in fact, not special to him and just another one of the streamers he has sex with. It might very well have made her feel abused but she’s not willing to admit she confuses abuse with a bruised ego. Out of pride alone she’s refused to admit her ego was harmed in finding out she wasn’t his special sexual interest and NEEDED to find a way, anyway, to label this as abusive as it felt.

I feel like you guys are totally misinterpreted the whole Hasan blackmail thing, which i can appreciate given that the correct reading of it makes even less sense. She's saying Destiny told her NOT to reveal the Hasan gossip and that if she did, it would blow up in her face. She's been dying to leak this for months. As you said, she's been posting it in discord, telling other streamers, vague posting about it on stream "The Hasan Nuke". So the "blackmail" is not a secret that Destiny's "holding over her", it's the "threat" that she'll be "ruined" if she drops it lol which, even by her own account ironically, reads a lot more like insight and advise rather than blackmail

1:35:21 now it's benzos? Benzo come down, if true, justifies 99% of her crazy behaviour. She knows that, benzo peeps will defend her. But she's failing to say sorry, she's using the benzo as a guard where it should be the only thing spoken about. If she really was coming down, destiny had 0 to do with anything. "Can't insult an idiot" is a true phrase. I've got a mate that can't help himself, and when you call him out he switches... If you call out the switch he laughs... He's never admitted what he's doing, but he's always giggling when it's pointed out. He can't be an insulted.... Because he's an idiot. Only an idiot can't see said idiot being an absolute idiot. If you defend Lav or Mrgirl you're the bad idiot.

The biggest problem is being young. Talking about very complex and sensitive issues is easy to misread something or someone as . Lav learned this lingo from the debate-o-sphere without knowing what any of it means or the gravitas that comes with these labels. Sometimes, it’s just a messy relationship with no abuse, just a sour situation. Abuser? R*pist? No. It’s just an unfortunate circumstance where Lav misread Steven’s intentions, whether they were explained or not. Most likely not, since Steven regularly “tests” people he sleeps with to prevent another Anavoir. Lav can’t process all this, because, again, she’s young. She’s going to kick herself when she’s a bit older and a bit wiser. And then, she’ll be healthy enough to process this kind of thing.

chud, generally speaking, people don't record their conversations. this is one of the biggest problems with prosecuting SA, there is rarely any evidence because there was a sense of trust in the first place which means that there is no perceived need to keep records. If you think people should just be recording all conversations with online personalities just in case, well there's an argument there, but don't pretend people just record conversations with their friends and SO's just as a matter of course.
@LuridContent

Most people don't record conversations. In the case of terminally online people like Lav and Destiny, when a great deal of their discourse is going to be online there will be. Discord? Insty? Any other of text based communications are definitely recorded.

So destiny definitely went at Ana in that stream two weeks ago, not just in the past he even said that he thinks she still hasn’t stopped obsessing over him. It’s very weird to say stuff like that with someone you think is “okay.” Another is destiny loves to say I can’t believe this is all happening over being banned. Well yeah, but you can’t act holier than thou when you were asked repeatedly to unban him and you wouldn’t, so if it’s not a big deal you should act that way. I don’t think he’s an abuser, I just think he’s way too involved in this orbiter stuff and enjoys the obsession people have with him. Way too many of his guests give him little to no pushback when he’s the one that enables people like lav and Ana.
