I've only tried once in a container in the northwest on a shaded balcony. 😬it's very spindly and gangly. I kept putting it in the sun on my apt stairway and did the best I could. I'll keep it as long as it lives as I love all plants. Thanx for the video. I love your calm voice and to the point explanations. One suggestion would be pictures of the flowers you think work well with them.

Mrjeffwortham, I LOVE LOVE LOVE French Lavender. I fell in love with this plant when I lived and worked in Corsica, France.(Go figure!) French Lavender grows wild all over the Island of Beauty/Corsica. By any chance, have you ever cooked/seasoned your food with dried French Lavender? I do and it's delightful, although you have to guard against the lavender overpowering the dish, especially chicken. Nevertheless, I recommend seasoning your food with it during the preparation of the food.

"Dentata" means tooth, and the species I was led to believe is French lavender has toothed leaves. It has a ferny or lacey appearance. It's difficult finding information on YT about this species, so it would not surprise me if any of us are incorrectly identifying what we have. The names French and Spanish lavender are also misnomers; our best best it to speak to a botanist lol. I have this species, which I keep indoors. They dont like frost so I would say Zone 5 may be too cold.

What lavender would you recommend that flowers all year round and is low maintenance and looks as beautiful as French lavender?. I live in South Africa.
