What did you think of the first episode of Lawmen Bass Reeves? Comment your thoughts below! It's definitely got more of the 1883 feeling than 1923 and Yellowstone which is something that i'm so pleased about! Can't wait to see where this show's going to go!

Thank you for bringing this show to our attention! I’ve never heard of this show. I haven’t watched Yellowstone, but I remember the character Bass Reeves from the Watchmen series on HBO.

GREAT BREAKDOWN!!!! The Poker scene was wonderfully acted. But it completely took me away from the show., The idea that Bass would believe his “owner” would have honor and set him free seemed completely unbelievable. Bass believed it so much he cried. In an age and at a time when Bass saw the horrible treatment of slaves. Seeing things the likes of which we could never even image.

TAYLOR SHERIDAN MAKES GREAT SHOWS and this is another one. I have read about Bass Reeves and he sure left his mark on the old west. The only thing is I wish the shows were longer

My only problem with his work is that they go on for too long, and get boring over time, plus he writes characters in the most stereotypical way. Strong female (toxic) character, silent and (boring) male character. Bass Reeves (though inaccurate) is cool because he suffers through trauma, isn't a silent and strong guy, has a strained relationship with his family, overworks, and questions his morale.

will you be covering the rest of the series once it’s finished?

Nice reaction/explanation. I love your accent and the very slightly different pronunciations... glad that a story resonates will viewers from all across the world/a myriad of cultures and backgrounds. To this episode, I came to it having seen the Yellowstone family of shows and its nice that deeply thoughtful shows with candid stories about the US History are being produced. And I did not get ill with any woke bias.

every time i see a trailer about bass reeves i think 'what a wasted opportunity to tell a legendary lawman's story' dude david oleyowo does not fill the screen.. bass reeves was 6' 2" tall at a time average height was about 5' 8" he towered over men plus the distinctive mustache ain't right

Are they really about to try to make this coward and betrayer to his people a hero? I suspect so just by watching episode 1. Oh my the programming is real
