Hi,polo, if I want prevention lawn for fungicide, the rate is 2oz per gallon water per 1000 square feet?Evenly spray entire lawn? Do I need water in after application? Thanks
@PoloFieldsLawnService
28 күн бұрын
@user-tk7wg7xf4c Hello, using Propiconizole, the low rate is 1oz per 1k. When the conditions increase, shorten your intervals to every 14 days but rotate with another fungicide that will attack this fungus as well. Meaning, don't spray Propiconizole back to back to back. If the conditions are high, spray Propiconizole, wait 14 days, then spray another fungicide from a different group that will attack the same fungus. Evenly spray your entire lawn. I normally will spray my fungicides, leave them on the grass, and then water it in the next day. I hope this helps 🙏🏾

Will azoxy and propiconizole eventually take care of the problem or would 3336 or TM 4.5 need to be added in also? Do you use a foliar nozzle like teejet XR or a soil nozzle like teejet AI for the application and does it need to be watered in or let it sit on the grass blades?
@PoloFieldsLawnService

Hello Rick, the Azoxystrobin and Propiconizole will work. You can rotate the 3336 into your program in the future to add another mode of action for prevention. The teejet xr will be fine, and if you see the fungus, let it sit on the grass blades when you apply it. Water it in the next day.

Hello, normally this is a little bit early for leaf spot and melting out, but several conditions can cause these fungus to flair up. Your azoxy/prop app should clear it up, though. Give it a little bit and let me know how it looks 2 weeks from now
@Shunya0101
5 ай бұрын
@@PoloFieldsLawnService thanks for the reply. Yeah, it’s early, but the 150 rule I learned from you is at 170-180 the past week. This stuff caught me way off guard. I’ve been using light nitrogen this year, no more that .25-.5 lbs per app. Once this disease clears up, would it be good to hit it with a little foliar N or leave it alone?
@PoloFieldsLawnService
5 ай бұрын
@Shunya0101 Has the temperatures been like that all week or just for a day or so? I would just leave it alone as far as nitrogen goes. Many factors can cause this disease to flair up like extended leaf wetness, little or no air movement, excessive nitrogen, and excessive thatch, and that's just to name a few. Once the disease clears up, see if that particular area has a lot of thatch. You can't really do anything about extended leaf wetness because this is our wet and cloudy season. If there is anything in that area that impedes air movement like large shrubs, unwanted items, move, or prune those things so some air can get in that area to help dry it out. If it's in a heavy shaded area, pruning your trees to allow some light in that area can help as well. I know this is long, but I'm just exploring all options that can help besides just hitting it with a fungicide all the time. But if these things are not a problem, preventive applications should be applied. I know you said that it hit you unexpectedly, and that sucks but at least you NOW know that it's time to start playing defense early like it's the 4th quarter with 2 minutes left to go. Gotta protect that grass 💪🏾

@@PoloFieldsLawnService I have a new respect for the fungicide game. I power raked or dethatched about a month ago, light granular with a spoon feeding approach with low N. It’s been a lot of rain, cold, then hot and all over the place with temps. We are getting a week of rain right now. The most affected area is wide open lawn. I’m seeing this stuff all over town in other turf areas. I’ll see what happens after the rain clears. I’m going into prevention mode for the rest of the year and keeping an eye on that 150 rule. Thanks for the great information in your videos! Appreciate it.

Hello Vicmartinez, thanks for your support. On leaf spot, Propiconizole is good, but Eagle isn't. Eagle is only good when the disease pressure is low, and in your situation, you already have the disease. Cleary's 3336 is good on leaf spot. The only disease that I would apply nitrogen to to help push it out is dollar spot.

I have been putting in preventative rate (1oz per gal per 1Ksqft) alternating prop and clearys every 7 days, and disease ex every 3 weeks. And been mowing high. Somehow lawn is developing yellow spots on the blades. I don't see any circular patches like brownspots or dollaspots for that matter. But I have been irrigating every two days early morning. The yellow spots started to show at the beggining of summer. I have been using organic fert since June as opposed to synth in April and May. Perhaps the disease is caused by lack of N or K? I just put in a 0-0-29 fert the other day...so i'm waiting to see if there is any improvement.

Sounds like you're doing a lot of over watering Ray. Do you have a watering gauge to see how much water you're actually getting when you water? Also, next time you throw a lot of potassium down on your lawn, put some nitrogen with. If you don't see any lesions on the blades, it's not a disease. That could come from heat, over watering, or lack of fertilizer. Another question: Is there a reason why you're putting down a fungicide every 7 days? Have you had a history of fungus issues in the past that makes you throw down every 7 days? That Cleary's, Propiconizole, and Azoxystrobin can be rotated every 14 days if the pressure is high. Also, if your disease pressure is high right now, go down with the high rate on all applications.

@@PoloFieldsLawnService perhaps I have been overwatering. I have an auto sprinkler and not all areas are covered evenly so there are areas that get more or less water. I'm still learning, what I do now was based on my experience from the previous years, with some adjustments along the way. As for the fungicide, I tried alternating all three every 14 days last year and still got some dollarspots and brownpatches, but maybe I was not putting in much (just 1oz mixed in 4 gal sprayer or .25oz per gallon). The lawn was so bad. So this time decided on the 7 day treatment. In a way each active ingredients are being applied every 14 days if you think about it because I am alternating fungicides each application. I am happy that I had no brownspots or dollarspots compare to the same time last year. Like you said, perhaps I have been just overwatering... Perhaps I should also apply an synth N too to pushout the yellow spots and because the grass looks kind of pale and stressed out, but I hear it's bad to put too much N in summer? That is why I am only putting in a low N content organic fert.
@PoloFieldsLawnService
Жыл бұрын
@razoray78 As far as the fungicides, when you're in a window of high disease pressure, go down with the high rate and short intervals, so every 14 days. I assume you have tall fescue. You can feed it but just go at a low rate, so no more than .50lbs per 1,000 sqft. I feed mine .25lbs per 1,000 sqft every month, and that's me spraying my fertilizer. It doesn't matter if the nitrogen source is organic, synthetic, methlyene urea, or foliar. Just don't over feed it. After all, all that you're aiming for in the summer is color (Money Green lawn). We're in the 4th quarter, 1 more month before the beginning of the lawn season. All you gotta do is just make it through August. September 1st starts a new year, and you can repair, fix, and feed your lawn all you want 😉
