Perhaps a re-do test by following the directions: - Wash and dry car (lawnmower in this case) - Shake Well, do not over-apply high active formula. - Use 2 sprays per panel - Spread and wipe with a clean, folded microfiber cloth - Use a separate microfiber cloth to remove In the NOTE: .... Allow paint to cure for 24 hours before washing or applying an additional coat I have applied few coats of this spry yearly by following the instruction carefully on my EGO lawnmower by waiting for 24 hours for each coat to dry before replay and the result is very good. Just like a car it does not "repel" the dirt and keep a car clean all the time but to be able to clean the surface easily after it is dirty and dry. I have let the grass dry for over a week last year and was able to remove the build up easily. By the way, many people ask about what tool is the best to clean the deck and the secret is: The tool that is already been included in the EGO lawnmowers, your mulching plug can easily remove all your grass build up and it is always available with you!! 😉

What I've seen in these similar videos, people fail because of they fail to follow the instructions. For best results you are supposed to apply the coating in clean surface (clean it with soap and solvents), dry the surface, apply the products as it is told in the instuctions of the product, let it cure and apply more coats if needed and again let it cure accordingly. This turtle wax product is not the best for plastic materials (as in automotive plastic coating products), but it's better than nothing when applied properly. It won't help massivly on grass buildup but it will in cleaning the surfaces.

On a separate note ceramic spray waxes (at least the ones I've used) are much easier/faster to apply and buff off and last just as long if not longer than a good synthetic or carnauba wax so that will give you more time to tediously clean the mower decks lol. A good tip is I spray some ceramic wax on my air conditioners before I put them in so when I take them back out in the fall they usually just need wiped off and in hopes that it helps the paint from turning chalky from the sun.

Doesn't look like it does good for getting grass clippings to fall off, but I'm curious if it does any kind of corrosion protection or if once it cakes up if it falls off easier than the other side. I use this turtle wax hybrid on my cars and the wax does AMAZING on them. It really brings out of the shine and it lasts the whole year or more. Haven't even rewaxed my mustang this year yet when I went to wash it for the warmer weather we were getting all the pollen and dust build up came right off with just some soapy water. Didn't even hand wash it. I also use cerakote on the trim. Since thats a plastic deck and cerakote leaves a somewhat oily residue I wonder if that would do better!

The only problem is, the deck of the mower you used is already hydrophobic, so putting a hydrophobic coating on it would not make any difference. You may see a better result, or at least a difference if a mower with a steel deck were used. Any mower, where you need to use a scraper or a stick to remove grass, rather than one, where the grass just glides off. It would be interesting, to try this Ceramic Coating on a snow blower and chute, to see if it reduces clogging in wet heavy slushy snow. It may even help keep snow from packing in around the auger.

Turtle Wax Ceramic Spray wax is not a true ceramic coating so that is why you got the results you did. Also, it is only meant to applied to car clear coats and you applied it to a plastic mower deck and didn’t follow the application instructions. TW Ceramic Spray wax is only 5% SiO2, you need to get one of the glass bottle ceramic coatings that are more upwards of 30% SiO2. If you truly want to ceramic coat your plastic ego deck, you need to get ceramic coating that is specially formulated for porous plastic trim. A good inexpensive solution is Cerakote Trim coating at Walmart for $17 and you can coat both the metal and plastic with it just be sure to immediately buff off after applying it or it’ll cure and have high spots and permanently look awful on the surface.

As a matter of science, grass is a solid and does not melt into a liquid like snow. The effectiveness of this product (or any other lubricant product) in snow should not be a surprise. As far as grass is concerned, the key is pretty straightforward. Wet grass shouldn't be cut. A demonstration like this would be equivalent to cutting the grass in the rain. It is only commercial operators who can cut wet grass because they have the necessary equipment and have business reasons for doing so. For the rest of us homeowners, try to cut the grass when it's as dry as possible.
