We're excited to share this world premiere recording of Esa-Pekka Salonen's Pentatonic Étude for solo viola, performed by Lawrence Power. Salonen wrote the piece for Power and it was premiered in 2015.
The Pentatonic Étude was written to be played ahead of the Bartók Viola Concerto, which is how Lawrence Power performed it with the Philharmonia Orchestra on 1 June 2017 at Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, London, UK.
