Well done mate. Once again you are spot on. It will be an uphill battle to get the laws changed in England. But good on you for trying. Scotland are encouraging people to repopulate Crofts ( I guess they finally feel guilty for driving people off the land in the 1800’s . Croft land is very cheap by English standards and they give you the automatic right to build a house if you are farming the land. We need the crofting laws reintroduced into England.

There profit margin would get effected if people were healthy and more independent mate... the system is proactive in maintaining things the way they are because of that in my opinion... having said that I admire the spirit of your call and will support it anyway I can. appreciate the valuable information you share from your hard earned experience

If we all work together things can get done, but its always one person fighting on their own so we need to build a community so we have the voice that will be heard. Yes it might take time but it will never change if we never try and I'm not doing these videos to benefit me I just know how hard it is to start a small farm and want to help other and give a little help to as many people as possible to live healthy lives

Your welcome just trying to make the whole process easier for other people as I know from experience how hard it is to just get planning for a shed on a small farm or piece of land never mind building a whole farm. We should all be allowed to build a happier healthy life and if that means starting a small farm. then we should be allowed to, daily struggles of debt and living in cities, eating unhealthy food does nothing but damage to our bodies and minds. If you can show through a business plan that you want to start a farm and live off the land then why not. That's what they ask us to do. But they won't let us do it...? All the MP'S have second homes in the country paid for by the taxpayers and we just want the chance to do the same. It's not like there will be migrated into the countryside plenty of people are happy where they are but plenty are not also. If a large number of people wanted it bad enough we would get it. Yes, things take time but where will we be in 5 or 10 years anyway the same place if we don't try. Sorry went on a little rant there LOL Thanks for you lovely comment hope to hear from you more in the future

Hi, Mick, we are rained in and there is nothing but mud. It really hampers what you want to do plus we are dealing with the avian flu outbreak so all our hens are indoors. This makes things hard especially when you want to use the space for other things. It's this time of year I have the most time to crack on with the farm but I can't even get on with the digger as it will just destroy my pasture. I cannot finish the pond as it is full of water, but the water that will not stay so I need to get in to compact it. It's one thing after another. I can't even pull the new stock fencing as I cannot get into the field at the moment. But just a couple of good weeks of graft and it will be up to parr. I have most the materials I need to get on but it's just pissing down. I want to have people who have subbed to the channel come to the farm and see what can be done from just a bare field as sort of farm tour. Also with not so much land. But I want the place to look great and be running smoothly before that and also this avian flu is gone. But it won't be long things happen all the time, but lately, it's been one thing after another. We are all in the same boat though so have to plough through. When I'm sorted you are more than welcome to come up, maybe we can have a chat on the channel about what you would like to do...?

I've also got lots of things planned for the channel. Want to do a tour around the UK. Popping in to small farms and helping out with some projects. Bringing some tools with me and a friend to help some people with maybe larger projects or just showing them some tricks. Think it would be cool and could collect signatures along the way, while also helping some people not so young so to speak maybe got a job done they so desperately need help doing..?

@@thesmallfarmerlife I can imagine mate we’ve had the snow here 😂 Iv always wanted my own land I read about the way you’ve gone years ago with the building the farm then getting permission to live their back when people was buying the lamas for that purpose and it just seemed to much hassle so I started looking in France and Spain you can buy a farm with a stone house and barns for £40000 out their now all this COVID and leaving Europe that could be a pain now so last couple of days Iv been looking here again the iv just come across your channel and seeing you do it I’m thinking it could be worth a shot I would like to grow fruit if it’s possible Craig and not go down the animal road what’s your thoughts would it be possible pal

@@mickdallinger7029 Yeah anything is possible mate the councils are just wanting to see real people trying to be farmers. Try and go down the 4 years 1-day rule. all you need to do is get permission to build a barn or some stables or a building on your land. then just condition the locals to see you coming and going all hours. This way if they do complain that you're living there then you have a good shot, but I would say register your address for the first year at some else's home just to be on the electro role and if the council check the role which they will first then they will see you have a different address. After a year or so no one is going to say anything and just keep the info to yourself don't go telling locals you live there but still be friends with them. Make sure they cannot just come and go so they don't see you living in the building. You only have to live in part of the building. My mate just built a block wall across one side of his barn and it was mint to live in and then got planning to convert the whole barn into a home with five bedrooms. There's lots of people doing it and it's not illegal to do it so just go for it mate and just don't cause any trouble with the local. but I've seen lots of places pop up and people just move on-site the councils don't have the manpower or money to through you off.

Hi if you have found a piece of land that you are going to go for adverse possession thats one of the best things you can do to prove you have been using the land. So yes it's great way to proof you have been using the land as your own.

@@thesmallfarmerlife thanks for such i fast reply the land ive found is between 2 houses both with very big gardens in a country lane and the area is residential/ agricultural land,im wanting to have more of a small holding with my own animals some that i would sell as pets plus growing my own hay for them and maybe grow vegetables and have chickens for eggs but how long should i wait to see if an owner comes forward first and what can they do with the animals if they find out im there before 10yrs are up,can they just remove them and sell them or would i have any rights once i start using the land ?

@@jennietribalspiritakitas2426 No you need to put a sign up with your number on in trespassers will be prosecuted and they will just call that number. If they hurt your animals then they would be in deep trouble and you could take them to court. They would probably give you the land then lol but they wouldn't dare hurt or sell the animals. You could sue them and for a lot of money also. Because you loved your animals so much and you can't live without them sort of thing..?
