They said it was uncommon and suspicious for someone to be jogging at such an odd time and that I kind of looked like a suspect that was breaking into cars. They asked me to come outside because they just wanted to talk to me. I told them to please leave and they kept on asking why I was refusing to cooperate with them and that I was acting guilty and like someone who was hiding something. The police should understand those lines as part of their job, and if they step into criminal behavior are essentially 'not acting as police officers' in that time and not eligible for any immunity. Police usually will not answer that question as to if they have a warrant . They will try to begin talking to get you off of your subject and it seems that most humans completely fall for this ploy. People do not have to respond. At all. Keep your lips together. If they don't immediately answer yes or no, you can say, I'll take that as a no. Tell them to leave through your closed door and let them know you're recording and timing them. Glue your lips together.

When i was about 15 I saw an entire battalion of state cops descend on my neighbors house around 9pm. Spotlights, dogs, yelling into a bullhorn, the whole 9 yards. They were even creeping through our backyards. Apparently they thought she was harboring a fugitive, but they did not have enough probable cause to get a judge to sign off on a warrant so they put all their eggs into intimidation. She stood them off ALLL night 😂, it was around 3am when they finally left, looking like the losing Superbowl team walking off the field. The guy they were looking for was never there, never even knew my neighbor. It was bad here-say info. She had 2 small children and a sweet old pitbull rescue dog, I dont blame her one bit. And the all night (actually only til 3AM?) terror fest for her 2 small children and rescue dog could've been avoided by just letting them go in to make sure the fugitive wasn't there. This sounds like a fantasy "what if" scenario, not something that actually happened (although I'm sure there are plenty of paranoid people with things to hide, including fugitives, who actually do make their children suffer through a standoff rather than letting law enforcement do their job). If you really think all police are bad, you need help. Are you sure you're not confusing a video game you were playing with an actual real-life situation? If there's a reasonable belief that a fugitive is hiding in someone's home, pretending that homeowner is a hero by not giving in to the 'battalion of state cops' who want to find him is a bit naive.

Two women came and looked at him and offered WAY less than what he was worth. We held firm on the price. They (unknown to us) make a report to animal control. We get back home, and find out they have gone through two closed, but unlocked gates... walked down to the barn, taken pictures, and GOD knows what else. We come home and there's a yellow piece of paper with the officer's number for us to call. Luckily, everything was good. They saw empty feed sacks, and barrels three quarters full. Plenty of hay, horses (we were rehabilitating two) had water, hay in the racks and fans running to keep them cool. But we really felt violated, that they came on our land, went through two closed gates, and just made themselves at home.

Under the "Trespass Act" in Ontario, you can notify (written or verbal) anyone or any organisation that they are prohibited from entering your property, BEFORE they ever even have a chance to enter. If they disregard that "prior notice", you yourself can arrest them or call police. Giving prior notice removes any "Implied" licence to enter and they are criminally trespassing as soon as their foot crosses the line, even if you are not there to tell them to leave. This law applies to anyone including police. My local (Peterborough OPP) police service have targeted, harassed, assaulted (Illegal arrests) and used the "Implied" licence to enter my family's properties many times years ago to carry on with this conduct. I served them "Prior Notice" under the "Trespass to Property Act" and now they are prohibited from entering and I made it clear I will arrest them. Their harassment ended and the false charges have also.

In the left’s ongoing war on the, their plan to strip cops of qualified immunity is among the most preposterous. The sole objective is to jam up cops and make them more passive. Qualified immunity means a police officer can’t be sued for violating someone’s constitutional rights unless those rights are “clearly established.” Officers can still be fired. They can still be disciplined. And they can still be criminally prosecuted. They just can’t be sued by EVERY lowlife they arrest. This is a laser-focused attack on cops. As a general rule, the only time you should be talking to police is if you are in immediate danger or witness an emergency. If you don't need police to respond to a 911 call, there's no reason to say a word to them for any reason under any circumstance. Our legal system makes them a protected class with special rules that citizens don't share. It's a rigged game, the only wise move is not to play their game.

However, his previous tenant had conducted nefarious activities for which several times SWAT teams had been dispatched and legally searched the premises and affected arrests. Now there I am-elderly and greyhaired. I had a knock and talk attempt. They claimed they had an alarm warning and were checking if my system had sent an alarm signal. Well I was sure it was turned off. But they did see my ADT sign so maybe that was their premise. A total of six cops looking at me. I told them that I knew of two other houses in the street with ADT and one guy took long trips. I didn’t think much of this after they left. But after seeing this video I am no longer so sure.

Keep your screen doors closed and locked. Then if you open the front door noone can put a foot in the doorway to block it open. Politely say, leave my property I have nothing to say to you. Close the door. It's also an additional lay of security against criminals as well. As a general practice shred all paper then place in your compost bins. That way you create a layer of security against all probing eyes. Establishing a secure curtilage also makes it easier to go after criminals entering onto your property.

After police performed an arrest outside my apartment front door I found a gun in the street after the police left. I wanted to return the gun to the police, but I didn't want to get shot, or accused of theft so I called the non-emergency 911 dispatcher (this number gets you the same people who answer 911 calls, but lacks the priority a 911 call gets) I explained the arrest (which she knew about) and said one of the cops had dropped a flashlight. I was afraid if "gun" went out over the police radio, I'd end up with 40 cops shooting into my house. So a few minutes later a knock on the door and a cop asking about a flashlight. The cop seemed confused because he knew what he had lost. I'd left the "flashlight" on the table, well out of reach, so I opened my door wider so he could see my table. He said, "That is not a flashlight." I didn't want to admit that I had told the 911 lady it was a flashlight because I didn't trust the police so I said, "Nonsense. If a cop lost his gun that would be a big deal. But losing a flashlight is no big deal." The cop looked at me as if he wasn't believing what he had just heard, then just said, "Thank you." At this point I invited the cop in to retrieve his gun, and now I had a new friend. Later he told me he was in full panic mode when he realized he'd lost his gun. He was on his way back when the call about the lost flashlight came in. He had no idea what that was about and he started to fear an ambush. But he'd carefully looked around and saw no sign of anyone hiding, he finally knocked on my door. When I told him why it was obviously a flashlight he was just stunned. No civilian had even done anything like that for him. At this point I told him the real reason I told dispatch it was a flashlight, and he said my fears were completely justified. He was one of the good cops, and he was just as worried as I was about police misconduct.

I had two cops knock on my door late one night just after I got back from my class. I think they must have seen me come in from the car park. They asked if they could come in. I didn't have anything to hide so I let them in. They spent nearly two hours hanging about in my sittingroom asking random questions. It was all very mystifying. I was very tired, just wanted to go to bed. I offered them tea or coffee or herb tea if they preferred, about 3 times. After some time one of them saw I had 3 rolls of aluminium foil & accused me of having it for the purposes of cooking up drugs. I assured the officers that I have never been a drug user but sometimes use aluminium foil to make models. They asked me if I had any to show them, which I did not, having fairly recently moved to that location. I offered to demonstrate making one but they were not interested. When it was past one in the morning I just wanted then to leave. I was tired of being polite, which is how I was brought up to treat police officers. I was on the point of asking them if I could now go to bed. I didn't mind if they wanted to stay sitting there. But maybe they sensed that they had spun this pointless conversation out as long as they could & decided to leave. As they left the male officer said that he believed me about the drugs. "You arn't bright enough for that", he said. As they exited I heard the female officer protest at his rudeness. Later I had two officers turn up fairly early one Sunday morning. They knocked on my back door, I glimpsed one of them from my bed but they didn't look in my direction. I decided not to get out of bed unless I had to. They promptly left. I heard one of them tell someone over the road, "Well theres no-one there now." All I can think is that the resident had seen me looking out the window, using binoculars to watch the birds on my little tree & assumed I was spying on her. So if the police call now I know what to do. And we are supposed to believe the police are terribly busy?!!!
