This was Brian's shining moment, musically, physically, emotionally. New father to three little ones and newfound confidence. He looks and sounds beautiful. I'm glad he was able to get to this point after decades of being kicked down.

Oh, God. Tears are streaming down my face. This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. It almost sounds like a prayer! The pictures of the three brothers are so sweet and emotional. Brian once said that he thinks that God gave him his music and his talent. I have to agree because his music and his talent are absolutely heavenly.

I wish Dennis and Carl were still here. I feel so bad for Brian and all that he has gone through. He has had such a hard life and he just made such beautiful and amazing music that will never be recreated by anyone else. His music has at least changed my life. At least he has a wonderful family now and so many people that truly care about him and won't use him. God gave him such a wonderful gift❤️

I cannot sing along with the chorus of this one without sobbing. Denny and Carl were taken way to soon. As many times as I saw them, Brian, the BB, I never got enough. They sang and played the soundtrack of my life. I can never thank them all, Brian, Carl, Dennis,Al, Bruce, even Mike enough.

I met Carl at least 10 x's everything and more that you read about him is true. That's why you'll NEVER see an unkind word written about him. When you met him he made you feel like it was his pleasure to meet you rather than the other way around. I'm sure Brian regrets not going to see Carl before he died but I'm sure he loved his brother very much. I finally got to meet Brian last summer so I can now say I met all 3 Wilson's. Sadly Brian never said a word just nodded a few times. But as Rod Stewart once said a" A nod is a good as a wink to a blind horse " R.I.P. CARL AND DENNIS AND THANK YOU BRIAN FOR CREATING THE SOUND TRACK TO ALL OF OUR LIVES

Thank you for sharing !!! 16 years ago I asked my two teenage daughters to sing this song at my funeral in the FAR future. As fate would have it, my younger brother fell to his death shortly after on a hiking accident. My girls sang it for me at HIS funeral. At this moment, it still brings me to tears hearing them sing. I was so proud and I believe Brian himself would have been moved. Thank you Brian Wilson. You've made this world a better place.

"your imagination" is a GREAT SONG, this one "lay down burden" is a great song... SMiLE went double platinum... "That Lucky old sun" has some fantastic songs on it... "HITS" ? who cares about the sales numbers? Brian Wilson did more by 1970 than most musicians have in a lifetime... even with all the "DRUGS" he has given us more good music than anyone i can think of... its just "Your Imagination runnin wild" show me another man famous for his music by 1962 that is still writing great songs. :)

What could I say, the comments below brings forth all of the emotions that this song/ballad could possibly invoke! Beautiful tears, and all of the emotions that this song brings to one's state of mind! How could a teenager with limited experience bring this much emotion thru his song? Baffling, except thru Gods blessing! Lord, please let us keep Brian on this earth, we need his song, and good will! After all, that's what Brian wanted for all of us!

A truly beautiful, touching ballad. I think the accompanying monologue by Brian, before & after the live performance of the song in this clip, amply demonstrates that this is one of Brian's prettiest & also 'deepest', "personal-statement" type songs that he's composed for a long time. A wonderful tribute to Brother Carl. Thanks for the privilege of providing this clip for us all to view, traderfiles. All class, and Much Appreciated .....

I'd bet that 9 of 10 Beach Boy fans, if asked circa 1972 who'd be the first to die (of the Wilsons) would've said it'd be "Brian." Glad that he was strong enough to pull through the bad times and still be able to write songs like this!! Thanks for the beautiful music over so many years!!!

It is unnerving to think that this is now Brian 15 years ago. This song was total proof that Brian Wilson still has the ability to write music. I think the production would have been better had he handled it alone, but such a moving tribute to many who feel the burderns of lie getting to them. Love and Mrecy Brian, you have enriched so many of our lives with your beautiful artistry.

I ran out of characters on the last comment, but I just wanted to finish by saying that I think that this is a beautiful tribute to Brian's brother, Carl; who in my opinion, had the "real" lead voice of the BEACH BOYS. Brian knew it too and that's why Carl stepped up on the big ballads; GOD ONLY KNOWS, GOOD VIBRATIONS and so many more. Brian, Mike and Al were crucial to hit records too and we loved what THEY did, but NO ONE COULD SING A SONG LIKE CARL WILSON. FLAWLESS & PURE was HE!
