I’m trying to find the most cost effective solution and shower pumps are plentiful on the second hand market, also which would be the quietest would you think? I’m asking you as you obviously know your stuff! Lastly have you got a link to the temp sensor probe you used? Thanks mate

Hi Mike Thank you for the video. I had a similar setup but with immersion heater and hose pipes but with that the boiler kept cutting off. After seeing your video, I got the Katsu 150W pump and got 15mm pipe with push fit connectors from the tub to the pump and the same 15mm pipe from pump to boiler. from the boiler I kept the hose pipe for now. Got it all connected but the pump is constantly switching on and off and now got to the point where the boiler dos not have a chance to heat the water at all. Do you have any idea what am I doing wrong?

how did you vent the exhaust of the heater? In my experience that thing is identical to a grill. It leaks heat out the side vents in any slight breeze. I wouldnt trust it inside of any building. I have mine outside and 3 feet above it is a metal roof to keep rain out of it. I also mount it to a metal grate rather than wood

Hi Mike. Have you considered keeping the electric at say 20c and using the gas to raise it to 40c before use? Presumably this would result overall energy cost savings, although the heat up time would be a lot longer and the gas bottle would need replacing frequently.

Hi Mike, bit of advice please. I've set up my system identical to the one you have but I'm have a few issues with the Sonoff controller. Hi Mike thanks for all the help, finally have the system set up and it's working really well ish. Promise this will be the last question, I have the pump set up via the Sonoff controller but what I've noticed with the pump is intermittent flow of water into the hot tub. What I mean the pump will pump for 5 seconds then click and stop for 2 seconds then pump again for 5 seconds the click and stop for 2 seconds and continues to do this, the LPG water heater doesn't cut out but the water flow is on and off, on and off. The instructions with the pump are useless, is there a way to adjust the flow rate so the pump constantly pumps so I have a constant flow of water? Thanks again and sorry to be a pain.

Hi Mike, have most of the parts now to build an identical system to yours. Just wondered about your Katsu pump, there seems to be 2 versions of the 150w pump you have. 1 is priced at about £130 and appears to have some kind of digital screen with a couple of control buttons and the other is priced at about £80 but has no digital screen or buttons. Both these 150w pumps have the same model number. Any ideas on which to get or in fact which do you have? Thanks.

Great video Mike and thanks for sharing. I have just set my system up albeit I mounted it all on a portable hand truck for mobility (especially during the winter when freezing temperatures are expected). I’m in Canada and was able to put it to the test last night. The air temperature was 7 degrees and dropping. Using a 12L water heater I was able to raise the temperature 5 degrees every 20 minutes. My only problem is that my VEVOR heater has a built in 20 minute timer before it shuts itself off. I had to set a timer on my watch to reset it. It took 4 hours and 12 resets to bring the tub up to 40 degrees, which is amazing as I would have never achieved this by just using the built in electric heater. I’m looking for some assistance on how to bypass the built-in timer? Anyone?
