Nice! You've got just about every trekker in the known galaxy green with envy with this setup ;-) In all seriousness, this must've taken many hours of work/setup, and I applaud your efforts to bring a bit of the Star Trek universe into a reality.

@PDOhm123 Opel Senators don't have displays like in the model he is driving. They have a traditional stereo deck with heating control deck. In fact most Opel Senators use the same set up. The touch screen display is all aftermarket.

@gothen1234: True, but Star Trek: The Next Generation, which was the first show to feature the 'LCARS' graphics, was from 1987. Similar graphics were present in the earlier movies from '79-'86.

I happen to run across a firebird with a neon tube on the hood corresponding a laser blast with airbrushed fight scene . I was a installer at audio logic , when a customer brought this thing in. He had tons of cool things hooked up way to much to mention . Oil slick and nail drop , fog lights in the rear back up light locations, called photons on the control panel . My job was to locate a short in the bank of 200 relays and miles of wire. Anyway this car has the same software as the car I worked on. And the owner of that car said he designed it himself. Just wondering where is the firebird ?

It was a Camaro. It was featured in a magazine back in the day. It had a crazy Enterprise-themed paint-job, three-spoke angled wheels custom tan leather seats with the centers removed just like Next Generation seats on the show. I believe it was in Florida.

@PDohm123 Very good point. I do think the setup would look cool in a Volkswagen then, which I've never seen one with a bad electrical system layout (except for the Beetle, but that's different). I will say that it's still a sick mod and wish I could have something like that for my '05 Mustang. Problem is that I'm a fan of both Star Trek and Night Rider, so my customization would be very odd (and a bit out of my price range).

@smitto21 well.... not entirely... especially if you'd take into consideration that the JJ Abrams' TOS has a version of LCARS... and even ST:Enterprise chronologically had a similar system... predating both TOS's.... even though it wasn't called "LCARS" per se... And "LCARS" doesn't necessarily mean "touch screen interface", and just that one component all by itself... more precisely, it's their operating system as a whole.

There is a blue and silver '91 Camaro RS that was at Barret Jackson auction in 2014 that had this feature and was also painted to look like the Enterprise. www.autoblog.com/2014/09/26/11-barrett-jackson-las-vegas-vehicles-worth-watching/ It also had an airbrushed mural on the hood with a neon tube that could simulate a phaser-blast between the two ships illustrated. The seats were custom tan-leather tufted and split to match the ones on the bridge of the show. It was amazing!
