I would like to suggest the album People Who Can Eat People Are The Luckiest People In The World by Andrew Jackson Jihad. Incredible folk punk project running at a brisk 25 minutes.

All My Friends is a song that really stuck with me. It’s a song that came out when I was 17, was the music of my high school and college days fearing getting old and irrelevant, and now, at age 32, is my reality. It’s the best example I can think of of music growing with you instead of apart from you.

The thing I love about LCD Soundsystem is how they've got some incredibly infectious, enjoyable dance songs like 'Get Innocuous', 'North American Scum' and 'Us Vs Them' but then can just as easily switch up and produce these incredibly emotional songs that have you questioning your entire existence like 'All My Friends' (my favourite song of all time) and 'New York, I Love You but You're Bringing Me Down' - incredible band

I do also think it does discredit the band and their music to think of them as a dance band, they're so much more than that, the beauty of tracks like 'All My Friends' and 'Us V Them' IS the build and the layers to everything and the incredible detail which you really appreciate on re-listens

All My Friends is an instance of the critics actually getting it right (that sounds harsher than i intend, there are lots of critics i like, though i can't say their generally bad reputation is entirely unfounded, either). I only discovered the song, and LCD Soundsystem itself for that matter, because many critics named it among the best songs of the year and/or in the top 10 songs of the '00s. While i did immediately find it striking for it's bare, earnest simplicity, I admit I didn't love it right away. But as I approached, then surpassed, the age Murphy was when writing it my love for it blossomed and it warms my heart that Murphy got the recognition of Pitchfork naming it the second best song of the decade.

Dude, if you think some songs are a little longer and get boring. Repetition is the appeal of the album.

Calling Us V Them mid is wild lmao. I mean, tbf this album is one of my favorites of all time, these repetitions and builds are so trance like and groovy and heavy. And ik opinions be opinions, so it be like that, but outside of Watch the Tapes (still pretty good, but eh), I think this thing is absolutely perfect... Then again, I also like Steve Reich and avant garde jazz and if some weird "patient" music, so I definitely see why this would be monotonous to some (also ngl, I feel like having lyrics up for this album for your first time probably lowered your experience of this thing).

You can really hear James Murphy's background as a DJ here, especially on Get Innocuous. Dude is an insanely great producer

So, my issue with LCD is that the tracks are a bit too monotonous. I always end up lobbing their tracks off my playlists. Have always loved Someone Great.
