Thanks for your take. I have been carrying one of these for about 2 year now I think. I pocket carry a lot. I used to carry a Kahr CW380 but i could shoot the Max a lot better so I switched. Mine probably has about 800 rounds through it and I has been great until the last time out when I had a couple of extraction problems. It looks like my extractor claw had bent just a little bit and sometimes wouldn't grab well enough. Replaced the extractor and I'm good to go. Just my 2 cents. Ruger replaced the extractor for me, no questions asked.

The feed issue you're describing should not be ignored or dismissed as being caused by choice of ammo. Ruger is aware of defects in the slide and barrel, and if anyone is experience feed or racking issues with the LCP Max (failure to go into battery or jamming), they should contact Ruger's customer service directly and not monkey around with the gun. Please do your viewers a service by adding this to your message. The last thing any of us can afford is to draw this gun and have it fail due to this issue!

I have the 75th anniversary addition with the stainless steel slide. First thing I did was upgrade all the springs and trigger with Galloway Precision parts, installed Tru Glo night sights. Upgraded the pins with Mcarbo parts and installed LaserMax TR9. I’ve put 750 rounds of all types of hollow point ammo including Hornady Critical Defense, Underwood Extreme Defenders, ( both 90 grain and 68 grain, plus P and standard loads) Underwood black cherry hard cast and a few hundred various FMJ ball ammo through mine without a single malfunction. I clean it after every session and carry it with 12 rounds mag of Underwood Extreme Defenders 68 grain plus P and a 12 round backup magazine. Unless I’m going out into bear country. In which case a carry 12+1 Underwood Black Cherry Hard Cast. I like it, it’s been deadly accurate at 25 yards and I don’t feel under-armed when I carry it. The green laser is ok but it flexes too much to be reliably accurate. (Though I had an attempted home invasion and low ready with the laser was enough to make them scramble as fast as they could.) the LCP Max has proven 100% reliable with anything I have run through it and it’s invisible when I carry outside of waist band in a pancake holster under a tee shirt, jacket or sweatshirt. Which is the most comfortable option for me. It’s powerful enough to take out any threat. Two big thumbs up. 👍👍

I am looking at this Ruger. I was thinking of buying the 75 Anniv with the Stainless slide as its a little less expensive, but is it worth spending extra money on the Tungsten slide (if I can find one) or just the standard Black Slide. Are you 100% happy with the stainless? what did upgrading the springs and trigger do? I am a novice so any insights are appreciated. I also like the new Baretta 30x coming out but its pricey and not available yet. My dad carried a Baretta for decades as well as a .38. so from all my research of new small concealed it appears the Ruger LCP Max is the way to go. I assume its more advanced then the older Baretta Tomcats, and Sig P365.

@@bryantartus it’s not a range toy because. 380 ammo is expensive and this is a 7 yard handgun. I like the stainless slide. I’m 100% happy with it. The stock setup is less reliable and the trigger will pinch. Also the upgraded pins and heavier springs will be necessary for plus p ammo. I carry it with 68 grain Underwood Extreme Defenders or if I’m in bear country I carry the Underwood Black Cherry Hard Cast Plus P. For practice I use the Ammo Incorporated bargain FMJ ball ammo. It shoots a little low and to the left so I modified the sight picture with the front sight tritium dot above the back sight window and drifted the back sight to the right a hair. For every day carry. This is a winner. My next handgun is probably going to be a 9mm Canik TP9 or Sig P320. Maybe a Hellcat. This is my deep concealed defensive tool that’s easy to carry anywhere. I forget I’m wearing it. I just put 200 (950 total) more rounds through it without a single malfunction so I trust it at this point.

I carry it as a backup for my CZ PCR or primary for deep concealment and if you want to see a laser in the daytime use a good GREEN laser. They cost more than red but are worth it. Both my LCP ll 380 I bought during the holidays and now my 75th Anniversary stainless steel LCP Max I bought two weeks ago both shoot low and left... Basically to hit a perp at center mass sternum at 7 yards I need to aim at the left shoulder... Now I have two guns that need to go back to Ruger with no hope that they'll actually fix them... and to be clear I'm certain they shoot low left because I shot from the bench over a hundred rounds through each.... Try practicing a different grip. I had the low left issue, and once I used my off-hand thumb to press to the right on the slide and used just the tip of my finger on the trigger, I became very accurate. When it comes to small, two fingered guns I give the nod to a snub nose revolver. Tiny guns work great on the flat range but they tend to get finicky when things speed up. Plus a snubbie doesn't need a holster which makes it an extremely flexible carry piece. I hope you're recovering well m8.
@Shadow__133
5 ай бұрын
I don't get the mindset that carrying a revolver (however heavy the trigger pull might be) in your pocket without a holster is safe or worth the risk of a ND over a probably negligible speed advantage. Not to mention the other disadvantages: worse sights, half the capacity, more weight, harder to conceal etc.
@rustwins4442

@@Shadow__133 every gun has its niche. Revolvers are the best in the mousegun niche because small semi autos are finicky. My 43c is about as light as a p32 but it's 10x easier to get ahold of. I tend to use the clip grip also, which makes it extremely convenient and comfortable, a great option for minimalist EDC and something one should never consider with a striker fired gun. I carry 9mm Glocks too, but when I need a small/lightweight gun I'll gravitate towards a snubbie.
