Always good to see your work , I used the old seals to drive in the new to the right depth then just pull out the old one no damage to the outer dust seal part worked a treat

When you've seen/used the worst grade seals out there you suddenly really appreciate the good quality stuff. My favourite is when a cheap seal is pushed in to only pop itself back out again five minutes or so later.

Thanks, Chris, good information here. If I were to put that seal in the diff I would have stood the diff unit on two big blocs of wood with the nose up, to be able to bang comfortably and avoid movement of the diff casing.

This vid is definitely something ALOT of d.i.y'rs should watch indeed, have seen even heavy equipment bite the dust because of failure for propper instal. And too true about easier to do on vehicle, having component bounce around makes for pain in ass, as for pounding on extension thats where harbor freight or halfords in your case come handy lol

Do you put grease on splines when putting a gear/transfer box together? We used copper grease but is there anything better or doesn't it matter?

Hi, can you do a video on changing the pinion seal in the front diff please?

Great video again. Think some people from a certain fb page should watch your videos or at least spend a 5er on a Haynes manual.

You sometimes mention specialist tools. Can you recommend sources to get these tools? Thanks.

Thanks. I've ordered a seal tool from them to see if I can correctly replace my axle seals on my P38.

Not cheap though are they, those tools?
@WorkOnP38

No, they're quite costly. Tried to source some on eBay and Amazon, but it seems there's no alternative sources. But it's costly to redo a fix a few times too, so I guess what I save from doing the job myself vs a shop is worth putting into the tools.

I'm afraid it is all down to financing the project. Put on ice for now until i have earned the money for it.
