hummmm, i just had an echo done and a stress test. the results came back as normal other then the usual ST i have. but if i steth myelf w/my littmann cardiology 4 steth, i hear an S3 w/MV murmur (loud swoosh on inhalation) going on plus a gallop sometimes (gallop wise). so i'm perplexed on what's going w/my heart. before i had all the tests, this happens: if i take a shower or do anything strenuous i get dizzy (syncope), fatigued very easy, and while that all happens i get a burning sensation mid-sternum shooting up my left side of my neck into my arm (bicep area). i know it's not GERD flaring up otherwise it wouldn't travel to my arm from my neck. any clue doc, of what this might be? i'm a former EMT-B and a former Med. Assistant by the way. i'm also a cardiophile lol. a big interest in cardiology most of my life basically and high interest in it.

Murmurs that are loudest on inspiration generally originate in the right side of the heart (eg tricuspid valve). Your echocardiogram is reassuring. However your symptoms might need further investigation; please discuss with your doctor whether he/she think that you would benefit from further testing.

Depending on the location and intensity of the murmur ( which is caused by turbulence of blood flow), the physician might elect to proceed with further testing with an echocardiogram to evaluate the valves and heart function. Not all murmurs are pathological.

Generally, mitral valve prolapse with mild mitral valve regurgitation is treated medically only. I recommend that you ask your doctor, why is surgery being considered for mild mitral valve regurgitation.

Generally mild to moderate does does not cause much symptoms, but your doctor who has seen and examined you would be the best person to advise you.

Good morning sir. I went to a medicine doctor for general check up. He did an echo and everything is normal except trace tricuspid regurgitatio and mild mitral regurgitation with normal morphology. After that I thought of it all day and I get anxiety even admitted to Emergency and dr said I had anxiety attack and refer to psychiatry. After that I went to a cardiologist again echo is done and dr said my echo is normal and also Dr said she didn't hard any murmur. My ldl cholesterol and triglyceride is also slightly high but in last my month September I did my lipid profile test again and everything is within normal range...Shall I do echo again or not? Is mild mitral regurgitation with normal valve morphology normal?

Provided everything else in normal, trivial/mild tricuspid/mitral valves regurgitations are not uncommon and only need observation. I suggest that you discuss with your doctor whether you would benefit from repeat the echocardiogram in one year as a follow up with him/her.
