Ah this is great! I'm not really a beginner anymore but I'm choreographing my own program for the first time so any inspiration is greatly appreciated 😍

totally gonna try this out :> also, I want to get my blade realigned for my feet type, do I have to get tested to find out how the weight is spread beforehand? Also, who should I consult for that?

I'm working on it! I lose control a bit in the barrel rolls but the video breaks in down in a way that I can start to learn it (since I learned the waltz 3s for last years program, that's the best part in my attempts XD)

Hi Coach Julia! I wonder if it is possible for you to make a video on footcare? How to relax the foot after intense training, how to deal with callus and blisters etc.

Bravo. Great video. I learn so much from these. A suggestion for future videos, can you do one focusing on various beautiful arm positions during three-turns and simple footwork? I feel like there’s lots of possibilities, even for beginners.

Hi Coach Julia, awesome video! I was wondering if any chance you could make a forward scratch spin tutorial? I know you already made a backward scratch spin but i have been trying to do a scratch spin but I’m pretty sure my technique is wrong, so if u could it would be very appreciated!! Thank you :)

I do have a forward one foot spin tutorial, it should be in the spinning playlist, that may answer your questions, but I will see about making a forward stratch spin video as well.

Hi Coach Julia! First of all, thank you so much for all the great tutorials! They are so helpful. I have a question about the power three-turn: in the crossover that follows the three-turn, it looks like you're not lifting your right foot off the ice. That's also what I see in figure skating competitions, but when we learned the crossover, we were told that we should lift the foot that's on the outside and bring it to the inside. Is there a reason why in practice it's often not done this way? Thanks!
@CoachJulia

We usually start by teaching the crossover with a lift. This is to make sure you have proper control over each edge, your core and your arms. once you can do that smoothly and without dragging the toe picks then we usually introduce a sliding crossover, rather than a lifting one. The sliding crossovers allows for greater power.

After the Barrel Roll, instead of having the Toe Tap, I did a half-flip. Marching for a few seconds I had the left FO waltz three, then a Salchow+Toe Loop combo. Ending with a backward pivot. A beautiful short program!

Hi! I’ve got all the skills in this video, plus back inside and outside three turns, and I’ve started working on difficult turns (twizzles, rockers, and brackets mostly). If I want to learn one of the footwork sequences, should I stick to this one, or will the harder one be doable for me? Thanks for making this!

It just depends on your level of ability. For a beginner skater, this qualifies as footwork.
@MsCharlottee

Ah yes because everyone is able to do complicated footwork sequences as a beginner... Please don't be so negative, it's a beautiful sport and there is no reason to gatekeep by saying things like this. No wonder people are assuming they cannot start skating as teenagers/adults if this is the message from fellow skaters/sport enthusiasts

Each skater has to start somewhere. As an adult skater, I am rather new to footwork and while I know I can do all of these elements, it would be challenging for me to execute them well and with flow. I am excited to try. Challenge accepted!
